You will combine hands-on experimentation with scientific interpretation, working collaboratively with colleagues at Speke and across Elanco's global network.\nYour Responsibilities:\nDevelop and optimise analytical methods supporting biopharmaceutical and vaccine process development, including HPLC, ELISA, UV and CE-SDS techniques.\nPlan, execute and evaluate laboratory studies through hands-on experimentation, using scientific knowledge and data interpretation to support project decisions.\nProvide analytical expertise across development laboratory and pilot plant projects at Speke and, where required, across Elanco's global network.\nInterpret analytical data, identify potential Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), product/process-related impurities and stability requirements, and translate findings into appropriate development strategies.\nPlan and execute analytical method validations and fit-for-purpose studies to meet project requirements.\nCommunicate project progress and scientific findings effectively to technical teams and global stakeholders and produce high-quality, peer-reviewed technical documentation.\nEnsure activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety, quality and Good Research Practice requirements.\nDrive continuous improvement and scientific innovation, including collaboration with external organisations and supporting analytical method technology transfers when required.\nWhat You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):\nDegree or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology/Biologics or a related scientific discipline.\nHands-on experience in analytical method development, preferably 2+ years, or relevant research experience such as a PhD.\nStrong understanding of protein chemistry.\nPractical expertise in developing and optimising analytical methods, particularly HPLC, UV, ELISA and CE-SDS.\nUnderstanding of CQAs, process- and product-related impurities and stability requirements within biopharmaceutical development.\nExperience planning and executing analytical method validations or fit-for-purpose studies.\nAbility to work according to Good Research Practices and produce high-quality scientific and technical documentation.\nStrong scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.\nWhat will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):\nExperience supporting biopharmaceutical, biologics or vaccine development from early through later development phases.\nExperience interpreting structural analytical data, including mass spectrometry, or experience with cell-based assay data.\nExperience supporting analytical method technology transfers or collaborating with external scientific organisations.\nStrong learning agility and the ability to quickly develop expertise in new scientific areas in response to evolving project and business needs.\nAdditional Information:\nThis is a predominantly laboratory-based position at our Speke site in Liverpool, offering the opportunity to work within a collaborative R&D environment and contribute to biopharmaceutical and vaccine development projects across Elanco's global network.\nDon’t meet every single requirement?
