Here, you’ll be part of a company that values and champions new ways of thinking, work with dynamic individuals, and acquire new skills and experiences that will propel your career to new heights.\nMaking animals’ lives better makes life better - join our team today!\nYour Role: Junior Databricks Platform Engineer\nWe are looking for a Junior Databricks Platform Engineer to join our Data Storage team and support the operation, governance, reliability and optimization of our Databricks platform.\nYou will work closely with the Data Storage Tech Lead and experienced platform engineers, as well as Data Engineering, Cloud/Infrastructure, Security and Governance teams. The role provides an opportunity to develop hands-on experience in operating and improving a production Databricks platform, with appropriate guidance and support.\nYour Responsibilities:\nSupport the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Databricks workspaces, compute, SQL warehouses and jobs.\nMonitor platform health, utilisation and workload performance, and investigate operational issues with guidance from experienced engineers.\nSupport platform upgrades, configuration changes and adoption of new Databricks capabilities.\nSupport the team’s established IT Service Management (ITSM) processes by appropriately owning, tracking, updating, and closing incidents/service requests from our stakeholders within the expected service levels.\nTroubleshoot platform, compute, job and workload issues, escalating complex issues to senior engineers when required.\nSupport incident investigation, root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.\nMaintain operational runbooks, documentation, monitoring and alerting with guidance from senior engineers.\nSupport compute policies, tagging and other cost-management practices.\nSupport automation of routine Databricks administration and operational activities.\nDevelop and maintain scripts, tools and documentation that improve day-to-day platform operations\nWork closely with Data Engineers to support reliable, secure and efficient Databricks workloads.\nWhat You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):\n2-3 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, cloud engineering or a related field.\nHands-on experience with the Databricks platform through professional work, projects or production environments.\nWorking knowledge of Apache Spark/PySpark and SQL.\nBasic understanding of Databricks platform operations, compute, jobs and SQL warehouses.\nFamiliarity with Databricks Unity Catalog, permissions, identities and access controls.\nWhat will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):\nExposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.\nFamiliarity with the following additional data platform-related services within the Azure Cloud platform would be beneficial: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Key Vault, Azure Logic App, and Azure SQL Server.\nFamiliarity with Git, CI/CD and basic automation practices.\nGood problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nStrong willingness to learn and develop platform engineering skills.\nAdditional Information:\nTravel: 0%\nLocation: India, Bangalore\nDon’t meet every single requirement?
