The role will provide practical legal support across a broad range of matters, with particular emphasis on regulatory horizon scanning, document and contract review, preparation and revision of legal documents, legal and regulatory research, and coordination of legal matters.\nThe successful candidate will be expected to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities while working closely with lawyers and other business stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nUndertake regulatory horizon scanning, identifying developments relevant to USBE’s business and supporting assessment of their potential impact.\nReview, analyse and provide comments on contracts, agreements and other legal documentation, escalating material legal issues to senior lawyers as appropriate.\nPrepare, draft, revise and proofread contracts, amendments, letters, corporate documents and other legal materials.\nAssist lawyers with the review and negotiation of commercial and legal agreements, including tracking comments, open issues and execution versions.\nConduct legal and regulatory research and prepare concise summaries of relevant requirements and developments.\nAssist with the management, organisation and maintenance of legal records, contracts, precedents and other documentation.\nBasic Qualifications\nParalegal qualification from an accredited programme, relevant degree, or equivalent legal experience.\nExperience working in a legal environment, ideally within a financial institution, regulated business or commercial law firm.\nPreferred Skills/Experience\nApproximately three to five years of relevant legal or paralegal experience.\nStrong experience in contract and document review and legal drafting.\nStrong legal research and analytical skills, with an ability to translate complex issues into concise and practical outputs.\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent matters and detailed documentation.\nAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgement and identify matters requiring legal escalation.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience in banking, payments, financial services or another regulated industry would be advantageous.\nKey Competencies\nContract and document review\nLegal drafting and research\nRegulatory horizon scanning\nMatter and document management\nSound judgement and escalation\nStakeholder management\nPrioritisation and organisation\nHigh attention to detail\nAbility to operate independently\nLocation expectations\nThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.\nAccessibility\nWe are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment experience.
