These roles will help shape the secure, reliable and future-focused performance of South Australia’s high-voltage transmission network.\nWorking across customer connections, power system performance and long-term network planning, you will provide technical advice, assess connection proposals, support Generator Performance Standards negotiations and develop power system models to inform safe, compliant and effective network outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssess customer connection proposals and support technical assessments for new network connections.\nContribute to the negotiation of Generator Performance Standards and connection compliance outcomes.\nDevelop and maintain power system models to support system security, capability, operational planning and equipment ratings.\nProvide clear technical advice to internal teams, customers and industry stakeholders.\nFor Senior Engineer, provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers and project teams.\nAbout You\nYou are and experienced power system professional with strong technical judgement, attention to detail and practical experience across transmission network performance, customer connections, power system planning and modelling.\nA successful Experienced Power System Engineer will bring:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or above.\nMinimum 7+ years’ experience in power systems, transmission, utilities, network connections or a related engineering environment.\nStrong technical capability in power system analysis, planning, modelling and technical assessments.\nAbility to interpret and apply technical standards, frameworks and analytical techniques to support planning, system design and operational outcomes.\nWell-developed analytical, problem-solving, communication skills and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.\nA successful Senior Power System Engineer with bring:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or above.\nMinimum 10+ years’ experience in transmission network, power systems or related engineering discipline.\nExtensive experience in power system planning, network performance, customer connections and operational support.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data and models to support power system planning, system design and operational outcomes.\nSound understanding of the economic impact of solutions to complex technical problems.\nAdvanced stakeholder influencing skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership and support business improvement outcomes.\nIn addition, both roles require:\nEligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.\nSound knowledge of transmission system reliability, network performance, substation components and relevant industry requirements, including the NER, ESCOSA, OTR and AEMO guidelines.\nExperience using modelling, analysis and programming tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, AULimit, Python or Matlab.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.\nEmployee Benefits\nElectraNet is committed to empowering our people and recognising their contribution with a competitive remuneration package for the Experienced Power System Engineer and Senior Power System Engineer.\nIn addition, we also offer:\nPerformance bonus eligibility of up to 15%\n5 weeks of annual leave per year\n15 days personal/carers leave per year\n16 weeks paid parental leave\nFlexible work practices and wellbeing support\nPaid volunteering leave and cultural celebration flexibility\nVisit our careers page to read more about our employee benefits.\nBeyond the benefits, discover a rewarding career with:\nExciting and impactful projects across South Australia\nA welcoming and inclusive company culture with a strong team spirit\nExceptional opportunities for career development and ongoing support\nSupport for professional certifications and memberships\nRegular social events and team activities\nHow To Apply\nPlease apply online via our careers page before 16 November 2026.
