You will play a key role in maintaining engineering quality standards, providing technical assurance and supporting the development of engineers across the team.\nThe role involves a blend of office-based and site-based work, providing exposure to ElectraNet's transmission network and the opportunity to see first-hand how engineering outcomes are delivered in the field.\nKey responsibilities include:\nPreparing protection system designs, scopes, specifications and settings \nReviewing and validating protection designs for compliance, quality and constructability \nProviding technical assurance and engineering sign-off where required \nSupporting commissioning and witnessing of protection systems \nWorking across multiple projects and managing competing priorities \nCoordinating with internal and external stakeholders \nSupporting the development of protection system standards and engineering practices \nMentoring and providing technical guidance to other engineers \nEnsuring compliance with legislative, safety and industry standards\nAbout You\nYou are an experienced protection engineering professional with strong HV transmission and secondary systems experience. You enjoy solving complex technical problems, leading engineering outcomes and supporting the development of others.\nYou are comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, providing sound engineering judgement and engaging confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nTo be successful, you will bring:\nMinimum 7 years' experience in a protection-related role \nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and eligibility for Engineers Australia membership \nStrong experience in HV protection system design, review and settings development \nProven capability in developing scopes, specifications and estimates for protection works \nExperience reviewing, assuring and signing off engineering deliverables \nSound knowledge of HV protection schemes, power system fundamentals and secondary systems design \nKnowledge of protection system construction, commissioning and IEC 61850 substation communications \nSound knowledge of Australian electricity industry regulations, standards and guidelines \nAbility to work autonomously across multiple projects and deadlines \nStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills \nCurrent driver's licence and a flexible approach to working hours\nEmployee Benefits\nElectraNet is committed to empowering our people and recognising their contribution with a competitive remuneration package.
