In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop next-generation products by solving cost, reliability, and performance challenges. Depending on your experience, you will support or lead fluid systems design activities throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition through production and sustaining engineering.\nYou will work onsite in San Jose, CA and report to the Director, Product Engineering.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDevelop and improve fluid systems hardware by translating plant and customer requirements into engineering specifications\nCreate and maintain engineering documentation, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)\nPerform engineering calculations, process simulations, and sensitivity analyses to support product optimization and requirements management\nEvaluate and recommend equipment based on technical and commercial requirements\nSupport or lead process safety analyses, including HAZOP and LOPA activities\nPerform engineering studies including relief device sizing, process simulation, CFD coordination, and heat transfer calculations\nDevelop process documentation, operating philosophies, and engineering narratives\nSupport engineering change management and continuous product improvements throughout the product lifecycle\nCollaborate with instrumentation, controls, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to ensure successful product integration\nSupport reliability initiatives including DFMEA, RCA, and RAM analyses\nTravel up to 10% to suppliers, manufacturing facilities, and customer sites\nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline\n2-5+ years of relevant engineering experience with candidates leveled based on technical expertise, demonstrated ownership, and overall experience\nExperience designing fluid systems for industrial process equipment or complex engineered products\nExperience with process design and simulation software such as Aspen Plus or Aspen HYSYS\nExperience with fluid systems, piping, plumbing, tubing, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, or related process equipment\nWorking knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mass transport, reaction chemistry, and mechanics of materials\nFamiliarity with process safety methodologies, including HAZOP and LOPA\nKnowledge of applicable process industry codes and standards\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills\nExperience in one or more of the following industries: hydrogen, energy storage, chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, semiconductors, water treatment, aerospace, or other industrial process industries\nCompensation and Benefits | P2-P3\nSan Jose Zone\n$105,000—$150,500 USD\nActual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package.
