In this role, you will lead sourcing activities with an international supplier base, from RFQ through contract negotiation, qualification, and production ramp, while applying structured program management to keep procurement execution on schedule.\nThis role is ideal for a sourcing professional with strong technical fluency and experience working across engineering and commercial teams. You will translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies, evaluate supplier capabilities, manage commercial negotiations, and drive supplier performance while maintaining visibility across cross-functional stakeholders.\nThis role requires up to 20-30% domestic and international travel to support supplier visits, qualification activities, and site assessments.\nYou will work in our San Jose, CA office and report to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing. \nPrimary Responsibilities\nOwn global sourcing strategy and supplier selection for process equipment and balance of plant fluid systems.\n\nLead RFQs, commercial negotiations, and contract terms directly with an international supplier base.\n\nApply structured program management to track procurement milestones from RFQ through qualification and production ramp.\n\nManage supplier performance, development, and risk across a global supplier network.\n\nPartner with engineering to translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies and supplier selection criteria.\n\nEvaluate supplier technical capabilities and ensure alignment with engineering specifications and project requirements.\n\nIdentify and mitigate supply risk, escalate issues proactively, and maintain visibility across key stakeholders.\n\nSupport supplier qualification activities and site assessments.\n\nDrive continuous improvement of sourcing processes as the company scales.\n\nSupport production ramp and new product introduction activities as required.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n\n8-10 years of relevant sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier management experience.\n\nExperience within oil and gas, chemical processing, or other capital-intensive process industries.\n\nDirect experience sourcing process equipment internationally, including supplier negotiation and contract ownership.\n\nStrong technical fluency with process equipment, including the ability to evaluate engineering specifications, assess supplier technical capability, and negotiate from a position of technical credibility.\n\nDemonstrated program or project management experience applied to procurement execution.\n\nExperience managing supplier performance, development, qualification, and risk.\n\nExperience working with a global or international supplier base.\n\nAbility to independently own commercial terms and supplier negotiations.\n\nFamiliarity with production ramp or new product introduction (NPI) environments.\n\nExperience with project management tools and product lifecycle management systems.\n\nStrong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.\n\nCompensation and Benefits | P4\nSan Jose Zone\n$150,000—$175,000 USD\nActual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.\nBase salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package.
