You will also be joining a team that is highly engaged, driven and collaborative.\nResponsibilities\nHow you can make an impact:\nTechnical Duties\nTrack record of successfully delivering generator interconnection or transmission planning projects across multiple ISOs/RTOs and/or Utilities\nProvide technical insights and support in complex initiatives driving policies in the industry\nServe as a subject matter expert on transmission planning studies by leading and conducting analyses related to load flow, transient stability and short circuit\nPassionate about solving difficult technical problems, providing innovative solutions and taking ownership of the solutions provided\nIdentify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and grid capacity\nCollaborate with other teams within EPE to provide strategic guidance on market trends and process change across multiple ISO’s, ideally in SPP and MISO\nDevelop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry organizations, and regulatory agencies\nStay up to date with emerging technologies, market innovations, and best practices in the energy industry to enhance the organization's offerings and capabilities\nAdvise on technical software strategy and IP development\nCarry out additional duties as assigned\nExperience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation under experience (bring your passion section. \nLeadership Duties\nBuild on EPE's existing generator interconnection and planning studies capabilities and help develop EPE's expansion strategy for the Transmission Planning Utilities team\nBuild confidence with senior and executive management within client organizations and assist in other sales and business development activities\nEnsure effective project staffing, resource utilization, and staff training/development\nEnsure that deliverables generated by the Power Systems Engineer(s) assigned to a project is prepared, checked, and approved in accordance with EPE's quality management standards and without errors\nTake responsibility for the timely completion of assigned projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives\nInteract with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns regarding the project(s) under study\nPrepare responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by providing a scope of work and time estimates for new projects\nProvide training and mentorship to junior team members to build a strong and knowledgeable team\nAssist in the development of marketing and business development strategies for the organization's energy resources services\nParticipate in industry conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay informed about new developments in the interconnection industry and network with other professionals in the field\nQualifications\nBring your passion, here's what’s needed:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field (a Master's or PhD degree is preferred)\n\n8 to 10 years of experience in the electric energy industry, generator modelling, transmission planning and interconnection studies is preferred\n\nSolid background in power flow, optimal power flow, transient stability\n\nIn-depth knowledge of at least one but preferably several of the following software packages: PSSE, TARA, PSLF, ASPEN, DSATools, PSCAD\n\nProven ability to evaluate new utility tariffs and study methodologies\nAutomation experience (Python, C#, SQL) would be looked upon favorably\n\nCompetency in analytical problem-solving, strong communication, and technology expertise\n\nExperience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation\n\nLead the change!\nBe a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.
