Studies may include near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection studies, reliability-driven transmission project alternatives development, and NERC standards compliance analyses.\nResponsibilities\nHow you can make an impact:\nPerform power system impact studies: Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability \nPerform NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments. \nPerform full generator interconnection studies which may also include Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies. \nEnsure that renewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission system meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements. \nParticipate in ERCOT working group meetings and case building efforts on behalf of specific clients as assigned. \nPrepare technical study reports for all studies performed. \nProcess, generate, and maintain data as required for all studies. \nTake responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives. \nIdentify training needs and present to the Engineering Manager as needed. \nPerform other duties, as assigned\nQualifications\nBring your passion, here what’s needed:\nStaff I\nBachelors degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems\n0-1 years of experience as a power systems engineer\nExperience performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability \nExperience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA a plus.\nExperience automating/programing in Python\nExperience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation\n\nHow we support you:\nComprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision.\nGenerous PTO and paid holidays\nEmployee Ownership Program\nWork with industry leaders\n401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)\nFlexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities base on position.\nLocation: This position is Remote US/Canada\nTravel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)\n\nEPE is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
