In this role you will work closely with senior leadership to support our growth strategy and provide subject matter expertise both internally through coaching and developing staff as well as externally to our clients.\nResponsibilities\nHow you can make an impact:\nPerform EMT studies as well as model benchmarking studies in accordance with IEEE, ISO and Utility guidelines.\nServe as a subject matter expert on EMT/RMS model benchmarking as it relates to Large Load and generator interconnection studies.\nLead and perform advanced large-load power system modeling and dynamic impact studies to assess system performance and interconnection requirements.\nServe as subject matter expert on modelling issues and model tuning specifically for EMT models.\nPassionate about solving difficult technical problems, providing innovative solutions and taking ownership of the solutions provided.\nIdentify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and grid capacity.\nCollaborate with other teams within EPE to provide strategic guidance on market trends and modelling changes across multiple ISO’s in North America\nDevelop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry organizations, and regulatory agencies.\nStay up to date with emerging technologies, market innovations, and best practices in the energy industry to enhance the organization's offerings and capabilities.\nCarry out additional duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBring your passion, here's what’s needed:\n5 to 7 years of experience in the electric energy industry.\nExperience in Large Load modelling and EMT studies.\nExperience in generator modelling, EMT studies, transmission planning and interconnection studies is preferred.\nIn-depth knowledge of at least one EMT software package such as PSCAD.\nKnowledge of modelling guidelines in ERCOT is required. Additional market experience is also preferred and a plus (PJM, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and/or SERC).\nExperience in managing and mentoring technical teams.\nActive participation in industry taskforces and/or working group.\nExperience with RMS tools and dynamic models (especially user defined RMS models) would be considered a significant plus.\nHands-on experience performing large-load modeling and analysis using industry-standard tools, including PSCAD and PSS®E, with the ability to develop, validate, and interpret detailed steady-state and dynamic simulation models.\nExperience with developing EMT models for Large Load projects.\nExperience with developing EMT models for IBRs or HVDC projects would be considered a plus.\nAutomation experience (Python, C#, SQL) would be considered a plus.\nKnowledge or real time simulation tools (RTDS, OPAL-RT) would be considered a plus.\nExperience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation\n\nLead the change!\nBe a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.
