This role serves as the Direct Material Excellence (DME) engineering owner for assigned components and subsystems, driving cost-out initiatives, quality improvements, and technical robustness. The role works closely with the Global R&D organization, ensuring alignment to global design standards, technology sharing, and adoption of best practices. Collaboration spans regional engineering teams, global component owners, suppliers, and manufacturing partner\n Key Responsibilities:\nProduct & Component Development\nLead design, redesign, and validation of mechanical and electromechanical components for the plastic tub dishwasher platform.\nDevelop new components aligned with global design standards, shared modules, and engineering rules.\nCreate engineering documentation including CAD models (Catia/NX experience preferred), drawings, specifications, DFMEA, and DVP&R.\nDirect Material Excellence (DME) - Cost Out\nServe as DME engineering owner for assigned plastic tub dishwasher components and subsystems.\nIdentify, evaluate, and implement cost-out initiatives through VA/VE activities, supplier proposals, and design optimization.\nLead structured root cause analysis and corrective action for field or manufacturing issues.\nImplement design changes to improve quality, manufacturability, and service call rate performance.\nCoordinate with Global R&D to share learnings, integrate global quality tools, and align on lessons learned for common components.\nCross-Regional Engineering Alignment\nPartner with Global R&D teams (EU, LATAM, APAC) to ensure platform components meet global product architecture standards.\nExchange design solutions, test methods, and validation learnings for common modules.\nDrive reapplication of successful global solutions into the North America plastic tub dishwasher platform.\nProvide input to global guidelines for plastic part design, electromechanical integration, and system-level robustness.\nGlobal Supplier & Manufacturing Integration\nCollaborate with global supplier engineering teams to evaluate design feasibility, cost drivers, and regional manufacturing differences.\nSupport global supplier alignment for common component families to enable scale, cost synergy, and consistent quality.\nTechnical Communication\nProvide updates to global stakeholders on DME progress, quality improvements, and design changes.\nParticipate in global technical reviews, design gates, and strategic decision forums.\nPartner with global Advanced Development teams to test emerging technologies and integrate insights into NA platform requirements.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or related engineering field.\n3-7 years of experience in product development, preferably in electromechanical systems or consumer appliances.\nExperience with injection-molded plastic part design, electromechanical integration, and component-level validation.\n\nQualifications:\nStrong collaborator across local and global engineering organizations.\nShares knowledge and adopts best practices across regions.\nIndependently manages priorities while aligning with global technology owners and regional stakeholders.\nUnderstanding dishwasher system behavior, water handling, plastic tub construction, or electromechanical assemblies.\nFamiliarity with DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, reliability engineering, and DVP&R.\nExperience leading VA/VE activities and cost-out engineering.\nGlobal collaboration experience strongly preferred.\nBenefits include:\nMedical, dental, vision and life insurance\nCompetitive holiday and vacation time off program\nRetirement Savings Plan (401(k)) with relevant company contribution.\nDiscounted products and an EAP upon hire and tuition reimbursement after 12 months of service\nPlease be advised that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position at this time.\nFind more on:\nElectrolux Group North America: https://www.linkedin.com/company/electrolux/life/northamerica/ Electrolux Group Careers: https://career.electroluxgroup.com/global/en\nElectrolux Consumer Products, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
