As a member of the operations team, the EMI/EMC Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.\nThis position is responsible for performing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, along with supporting climatics, environmental, and dynamics testing services for customers across a range of industries.\nIf you are not currently authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, Element Materials Technology will not consider your job application. Any candidate must be lawfully eligible to work in the US as a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.\nSalary: $25.39- $42.33/hr DOE\nResponsibilities\nSet up, configure, and operate EMI/EMC test equipment, instrumentation, and laboratory test systems\nPerform electromagnetic emissions and immunity testing in accordance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications\nUtilize various testing equipment such as: Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Wave Form Generator and Signal Generator\nSupport testing activities involving radiated and conducted emissions, radiated and conducted immunity, electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transient (EFT), surge, and other applicable electromagnetic compatibility tests\nConfigure test setups using antennas, receivers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, amplifiers, current probes, and associated instrumentation\nMonitor test performance, collect data, identify anomalies, and troubleshoot equipment or test setup issues\nAssist with pre-compliance evaluations, formal compliance testing, and product qualification programs\nMaintain accurate test records and prepare technical reports documenting procedures, results, observations, and deviations\nSkills / Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline\nFoundational knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, instrumentation, measurement techniques, and engineering principles\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to interpret technical procedures, engineering drawings, test specifications, and customer requirements\nProficiency with computers and standard office applications for data recording, analysis, and technical reporting\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative laboratory team\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and accurate test execution\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience performing EMI/EMC testing in a commercial, industrial, automotive, aerospace, medical device, telecommunications, or electronics testing laboratory\nFamiliarity with applicable IEC, CISPR, ISO, SAE, MIL-STD, FCC, or other relevant EMI/EMC standards\nExperience with EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, antennas, RF amplifiers, and associated test equipment\nExposure to environmental chambers, temperature and humidity testing, vibration systems, mechanical shock testing, or related reliability evaluations\nFamiliarity with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory operations, calibration practices, measurement uncertainty, and quality documentation\nExperience interpreting test data and preparing formal technical reports\nPrior experience in a Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) organization or third-party testing laboratory\nCompany Overview\nElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
