The successful candidate will join a small team working in the Dioxins and Furans lab. Your duties will include preparing and analysing routine and non-routine samples using a variety of techniques following laboratory procedures.\nElement Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world. The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver. The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data in the format of choice.\nResponsibilities\nPreparing stack, soil, ash and water samples for analysis of Dioxins, Furans, PCBs and PAHs\nPreparing send out packages to be shipped to our clients\nPreparing standards for spikes, calibration and quality purposes\nConducting analysis and reporting of results to company methods and procedures\nEnsuring adherence to good laboratory practice and housekeeping at all times\nInstrument calibration, routine maintenance and troubleshooting\nPrioritising workloads to ensure work is completed in a timely manner\nEnsuring a continual supply of laboratory consumables by monitoring stock levels and placing orders\nDevelopment and documentation of methods in conjunction with senior analytical team members\nFollow health, safety and quality procedures at all times\nSkills / Qualifications\nA degree qualification in Chemistry or a Chemistry related subject is preferential\nA ‘level Chemistry or another science/maths qualification\nAlternative qualifications will be considered depending on relevant equivalent experience\nExperience within an ISO 17025 commercial analytical laboratory would be advantageous\nA motivated, organised individual, with a positive attitude\nExcellent attention to detail\nAbility to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines\nBenefits of working at Element\n33 days annual holiday, consisting of 25 days annual holiday and 8 days public / x4 Life Assurance / Legal & General Pension scheme with total contributions up to 12% / Flexible Working / Cycle Scheme / Recommend a Friend Bonus / Perks At Work Discount Scheme\nTo apply please email \nCompany Overview\nElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
