As a member of the Mechanical Test Department, the Materials Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.\nElement Daleville is a materials testing laboratory located in Daleville, Indiana, supporting aerospace, defense, and critical manufacturing customers across the region. Core capabilities include mechanical testing, metallurgical evaluation, and chemistry testing for metals and alloys used in high-performance applications. Services include tensile testing (room and elevated temperature), hardness testing, Charpy and Izod impact testing, metallography and microstructural evaluation, weld testing and welder qualification support, macroetch and weld macro examination, heat treatment services, stress rupture and creep rupture testing, and metallurgical failure analysis support.Salary: $20- $24/hr DOE\nResponsibilities\nPerforms tests as directed by customer specifications, including, but not limited to: Room and Elevated Temperature Tensile; Stress and Creep Rupture; Charpy and IZOD; Hardness; Heat Treatment; Bend; Hydrogen Embrittlement\nAt times operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager\nInteracts periodically with customers\nAdheres to all Element Safety Standards\nPerforms all responsibilities in accordance with Element's established Standard Operating Procedures\nPrepares material specimens for testing\nEnsures tests are performed using calibrated and well-maintained equipment\nOperates equipment per manufacturer and safety requirements\nGathers and records test data, determining material conformance to customer requirements and industry standards\nSkills / Qualifications\nWorking knowledge of laboratory safety\nHS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed\nMinimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing related field\nAnalyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed\nBasic understanding of testing concepts\nPossess computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Office Applications\nAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)\nLifting requirements: lifting 50 lbs. on occasion\nAbility to stand on feet for long periods of time\nAbility to lift 50+lbs periodically\nCompany Overview\nElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
