A nitric etching and prime operator are responsible for safely preparing, running, and monitoring nitric acid-based etching processes, priming processes, ensuring product quality, equipment integrity, and strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.\nSalary: $20- $30/hr DOE\nResponsibilities\nVerify that all etching equipment, including nitric acid handling systems, is in proper working order before operation\nPerform Nitric rinse tank changeovers per work instructions\nOperate both manual and automated wet etching processes to exact specifications\nMonitor process parameters such as temperature, flow rates, and chemical concentration to maintain consistent etch quality\nUse inspection tools (e.g., microscopes, thickness measurement systems) to verify critical dimensions and etch quality\nInspect substrates for photoresist quality before etching and after etching to ensure no defects\nPerform tape tests or other inspections to confirm complete and uniform etching\nStrip photoresist from substrates and inspect for cleanliness\nPerform routine maintenance on etching equipment and related systems\nTroubleshoot process issues, such as incomplete etches or contamination, and implement corrective actions\nLog maintenance activities and report equipment problems to supervisors.\nAdhere to all safety procedures for handling nitric acid, including spill containment, ventilation control, and PPE use\nFollow environmental regulations for chemical disposal and waste management\nMaintain accurate records of production runs, chemical usage, and quality inspections.\nWork with engineers, quality control staff, and other operators to ensure process stability and product compliance\nDocument all operations, deviations, and corrective actions in accordance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001, MIL-STD, IPC)\nOperate the equipment to apply primer or paint evenly and consistently to product surfaces\nInspect primed products for defects such as uneven coverage, drips, or missed spots.\nMonitor output for consistency and make adjustments as needed.\nFollow quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
