This individual is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing interactive dashboards, business intelligence solutions, and reporting interfaces that transform data from multiple sources into actionable insights. This role leverages Tableau and other reporting tools to support management reporting, operational analysis, and data-driven decision-making.\nThe BI Tableau Developer collaborates with data engineers, software developers, business stakeholders, and project leadership to gather reporting requirements, assess visualization tools, and deliver user-friendly reporting solutions. The position also supports the development of interfaces that present the results of Natural Language Processing (NLP) analysis, including capabilities for document categorization, tagging, and lookup.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Intelligence, Visualization, and Reporting\nDevelop, test, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that communicate key performance indicators, metrics, trends, and operational or management insights.\n\nUse approved data sources to create reporting views; collaborate with data engineers and analysts when new integrations or data transformations are needed.\n\nConfigure or support data refresh schedules in line with business requirements.\n\nValidate calculations, filters, data accuracy, and dashboard functionality before release.\n\nImprove dashboard performance, usability, and accessibility based on user feedback and established standards.\n\nDocument dashboard data sources, business rules, calculations, and refresh schedules.\n\nEvaluate reporting or visualization tools when the team needs to compare solutions or meet a specific customer requirement.\n\nUser Interface and Reporting Solutions\nSupport the development and maintenance of reporting interfaces in customer-approved environments, including integrating Tableau dashboards into existing applications or platforms.\n\nHelp present NLP-generated document classifications and tags so authorized users can review, search, filter, and look up analyzed documents.\n\nWork with data engineers and developers to clarify data dependencies and resolve issues affecting reporting interfaces or NLP results.\n\nGather user feedback and recommend improvements to interface navigation, filtering, and usability.\n\nSupport user acceptance testing to confirm that interface changes meet functional and business requirements.\n\nData Quality and Technical Support\nWork with data engineers and analysts to understand data sources, structures, and transformations, and to investigate discrepancies between source data and dashboard results.\n\nHelp troubleshoot dashboard and data-refresh issues, escalating problems that require changes to source systems or pipelines.\n\nSupport testing and release of dashboard or reporting-interface updates.\n\nFollow established security, privacy, access-control, and data-handling requirements when working with customer and organizational data.\n\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Associates degree plus two years' experience.\n\nAt least 2 years of professional experience in business intelligence, Tableau development, data visualization, or reporting.\n\nHands-on experience developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau.\n\nProficiency in SQL for querying, validating, and analyzing data from relational databases or other data sources.\n\nUnderstanding of data visualization principles, dashboard design, data modeling, and KPI reporting.\n\nExperience connecting reporting tools to multiple data sources and validating report accuracy.\n\nFamiliarity with dashboard filters, parameters, calculated fields, data extracts, and scheduled data refreshes in Tableau.\n\nUnderstanding of Agile development practices and Scrum principles.\n\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks, collaborate with technical and business stakeholders, and meet established project deadlines.\n\nMust live in the Continental US.\n\nBe either a US citizen or Permanent Resident due to the work we do.\n\nDepending on agency requirements, you may need to possess or obtain a Public Trust designation or security clearance. Regardless of the specific requirement, all positions require the successful completion of a background check, background investigation, and the standard onboarding process.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in government contracting, healthcare CMS (Center of Medicare & Medicaid) or in the health industry.\n\nExperience developing dashboards for management reporting, operational performance monitoring, or executive decision-making.\n\nFamiliarity with Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration, publishing, permissions, and scheduled refresh management.\n\nExperience integrating reporting interfaces into existing business applications or workflows.\n\nExposure to NLP, document analytics, automated categorization, tagging, search, or document management systems.\n\nFamiliarity with Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages used to support data processing or interface functionality.\n\nExperience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.\n\nQualified individuals living in HUBZone-certified areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
