You work on multiple projects building data platforms on Databricks for our clients. You will be surrounded by an exceptional peer group with deep experience in Analytics Engineering within the Microsoft & Databricks tech stack, so you will always have colleagues to spar with on the (technical) decisions you make.\nYour responsibilities\nAs a Senior Databricks Data Engineer, you work hands-on to deliver data platforms that are ready for analytics and AI, and you own them from first requirement to production. Every mission we embark on will be a collaboration with the customer, where we translate their ambitions into concrete deliverables.\nDesign, build and maintain ETL pipelines and data models on Databricks, with Spark and Delta Lake\nImplement streaming and Change Data Capture with Lakeflow, including Declarative Pipelines\nEstablish governance and access control in Unity Catalog\nBring AI into the platform with Databricks Genie and Genie Spaces\nTranslate customer questions into technical solutions, shape the solution design (data platform strategies and architectures) and implement it in Databricks\nCoach colleagues and client teams, and review their work\nYour profile\nYou have coached colleagues before, and you enjoy it\n4+ years of experience as a data engineer or in BI, of which 2+ years in the cloud, preferably Azure, with ETL jobs you designed, built and maintained yourself\nStrong data modelling and coding (mostly SQL, Python, PySpark) skills\nHands-on experience with Databricks and the open-source technology underneath: Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, streaming and CDC\nYou use AI hands-on in your own engineering work and are keen to do more with it\nDatabricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional is a plus, or you are open to obtaining it\nA team player and problem solver who turns a customer question into a design, switches easily between projects and explains technical choices to any stakeholder\nEnthusiastic about being part of a growing team & industry\nYou already reside in Belgium\nYou are fluent in English, and either Dutch or French\nAt element61, we hire for personality, drive, and a passion for learning, not just for what’s on your CV.
