Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.\n\nWe are looking for a Senior UI/UX Engineer (m/f/d) to join us in Hamburg or Siegen and own the end-to-end experience of working with our quantum computers, from the customer-facing web platform for submitting quantum programs and exploring results to the internal interfaces used to run, monitor, and calibrate our machines in the lab. You set the design direction for both, and you build the component library that both are made of.\n\nThis is a design-led role for someone who is not satisfied handing over a Figma file and hoping for the best. \n\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the design direction for our customer-facing cloud platform and our internal operator interface, and keep them coherent as one product family\n\nRun the research: interview operators and physicists, observe real calibration workflows in the lab, and turn what you learn into design decisions\n\nProduce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for both surfaces\n\nBuild and own our design system as production-ready, tested components in code - the shared foundation that our engineers assemble applications from\n\nMake dense telemetry and calibration data legible: define the visualisation patterns that let operators see what matters at a glance\n\nValidate what ships: run usability tests on implemented interfaces and hold the quality bar between design intent and delivered product\n\nShape APIs together with backend and platform engineers, advocating for the user's perspective early in the process\n\nSet the standard for accessibility, usability, and visual consistency, and raise the design literacy of the wider engineering team\n\nRequirements\nRequired Skills:\n5+ years of professional experience in product or interaction design, with a portfolio of shipped digital products\n\nAbility to build your own designs as reusable components in production code: confident with TypeScript and React, including component testing and documentation (e.g. Storybook)\n\nMastery of the full design toolkit - research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, visual design - with Figma as your daily driver\n\nDemonstrated experience designing for complex, data-heavy, or expert-user products rather than consumer apps\n\nTrack record of building or substantially owning a design system\n\nExperience planning and running usability testing, and acting on what it tells you\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively with domain experts, and to turn ambiguous problems into clear designs\n\nStrong adaptability and a quick learning mindset\n\nGood proficiency in English (written and spoken)\n\nNice to have (Bonus)\nReal-time data in the browser (WebSockets, streaming telemetry)\n\nExperience with scientific, industrial, or laboratory control software\n\nAccessibility standards (WCAG) applied in practice\n\nExperience mentoring designers or leading design in a cross-functional team\n\nPrior experience with quantum computing or other deep-tech domains.\n\nWhat you can expect from eleQtron:\nCompetitive salary: We value our team members and therefore provide remunerations that reflect this, additionally rewarding achievements\n\nFlexible working hours: We offer personal freedom through a variety of flexible work schedules\n\nTeam spirit: In our international and diverse team, and with our regular team events, having fun at work is simply part of the culture\n\nFurther development: We want to grow together and so we offer our team members needs-based, individualized further training as well as plenty of room for personal development\n\nWellness Package: We offer health-promoting benefits such as fitness programs like UrbanSportsClub to support your well-being\n\nBike Leasing: Stay Mobile and Sustainable with Our Company Bike Leasing Program\n\nMoving Benefits: A warm welcome!
