Owns the target-state data platform and the technical approach for separating and moving application, user and enterprise data. Builds new platforms from the ground up where the separated entity needs them.\nJob Responsibilities\nDesign observability architecture covering logs, metrics and traces\n\nDefine collection of application events and infrastructure events\n\nDesign log ingestion, retention and analysis\n\nDesign data pipelines and ETL for batch and streaming workloads\n\nDesign data models and data lake, data warehouse and lakehouse architectures\n\nDesign a greenfield data lake from the ground up\n\nDefine ingestion and deduplication for structured and unstructured data\n\nDesign the technical approach for application data and user data moves\n\nDesign enterprise master data handling\n\nDesign analytics, custom dashboards and reporting with Power BI or Tableau\n\nDefine data security, access control, lineage and quality controls\n\nProduce high-level and low-level designs and review them with client architects\n\nRequired Experience\n10+ years of relevant experience in data and analytics architecture\n\nStrong experience in observability: logs, metrics and traces for applications and infrastructure\n\nExperience with log ingestion, retention and analysis at scale\n\nExperience building data pipelines, ETL and ELT\n\nStrong data modelling skills\n\n3 to 5 years of working experience with data lakes and data warehouses, on at least two vendors\n\nExperience with data lakehouse architectures\n\nExperience handling structured and unstructured data\n\nExperience with batch processing and batch operations\n\nExperience with ingestion and deduplication\n\nExperience with data migration, including application data and user data\n\nExperience with enterprise master data management\n\nExperience building a greenfield data lake from the ground up\n\nExperience with at least two analytics tools, such as Power BI and Tableau, including custom dashboards\n\nKnowledge of data governance: cataloguing, lineage, quality, masking and access control\n\nKnowledge of orchestration and streaming tools such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow or Kafka\n\nStrong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python\n\nExperience with at least two cloud providers (Azure and AWS)\n\nExposure to at least two OEMs or two vendors in each technology area\n\nStrong communication skills, with prior experience working with UK and EU clients\n\nWillingness to travel as required and to work in the client time zone\n\nPrior infrastructure background alongside the specialism above\n\nPrior experience in IT consolidations, mergers, demergers and carve-outs (mandatory)\n\nRelevant professional certifications strongly
