We are now looking for a Data Engineer / Data Analyst in Iasi, Romania, who will work hands-on with telecom datasets-profiling, modelling, enriching, parsing, and validating data that powers our global products and customer deliveries.\nThis role is part of our data engineering and analytics function, working closely with software engineers, data warehouse teams, and our customer delivery organisation. You will help ensure that data is accurate, complete, well-structured, and ready for advanced analytics and product use cases.\nIf you enjoy solving complex data challenges and want to work in a technical, collaborative, and international environment, this role is for you.\nWhat You Will Do\nManipulate, cleanse, profile, model, and enrich large telecom datasets.\nEnsure data flowing into operational and analytics systems is accurate and validated end-to-end.\nBuild, maintain, and improve data pipelines-ETL/ELT processes, transformations, and metadata management.\nParse and handle structured data formats such as XML and JSON.\nPerform root cause analysis on data issues and help identify opportunities for improving data quality.\nWork closely with data engineers, analysts, and delivery teams to understand customer and product requirements.\nCreate reusable parsing logic, validation checks, and lightweight automation (Python is a plus).\nCollaborate with customer teams to troubleshoot and explain data behaviours when needed.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nCore Skills (Must-Have)\nStrong SQL skills (deep SQL, Spark SQL is highly valuable).\nExperience working with relational databases and large datasets.\nFamiliarity with ETL processes and data transformation workflows.\nVery good understanding of XML, structured data parsing, and Regular Expressions (RegEx).\nAbility to work with unstructured datasets and perform detailed data validation.\nUnderstanding of APIs, REST, and data queries.\nExperience with Linux commands for file handling and text manipulation.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset.\nGood communication skills in English.\nNice to Have\nExperience with Python for parsing or automation.\nExperience with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Redis, or similar technologies.\nExposure to Airflow or DAG-based workflow tools.\nExperience with Elastic / Kibana or other visualization tools.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nExperience in B2B, telecom, or data-heavy environments.\nPrior experience working in cross-functional international teams.\nWhy Polystar?\nGlobal ImpactYour work supports telecom operators in 55+ countries and influences network quality for millions of users.\n\nUnique Technical ChallengesWork with real-time, high-volume telecom datasets-few companies handle data at this depth and scale.\n\nCollaborative CultureWe work as one team.
