Working alongside experienced Seniors, Managers, and Directors, the Associate supports key workstreams, interacts with customer teams, and helps deliver practical solutions that strengthen accounting operations and support business needs.\nEngagements may include cash-to-accrual conversions, accounting cleanup and remediation, interim accounting support, month-end close optimization, accounting process improvement, and ERP or accounting system transitions. No two engagements are exactly alike, providing broad exposure to industries, accounting environments, and business challenges.\nThis role is ideal for an experienced audit associate or accounting professional who is naturally curious, takes ownership, enjoys problem solving, and wants to move beyond testing or maintaining established processes into execution. The work combines hands-on execution, meaningful customer interaction, coaching from experienced professionals, and a clear path to grow within CAAS Projects Advisory.\nResponsibilities\nSupport project-based accounting and finance engagements, including cash-to-accrual conversions, accounting cleanup and remediation, month-end close support, process improvement, and ERP or accounting system transitions.\nAssist with interim accounting engagements by supporting close, reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and day-to-day accounting priorities.\nPrepare account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting schedules, process documentation, and other engagement deliverables.\nGather and analyze customer information, investigate variances and accounting issues, and help develop practical solutions.\nComplete assigned work accurately and on time while proactively communicating questions, progress, risks, and barriers.\nParticipate in customer meetings, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate directly with Controllers, accounting teams, and other customer stakeholders.\nManage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple engagements while adapting to changing priorities.\nApply audit, financial reporting, internal control, and accounting-process knowledge to customer situations.\nUse technology, data, and process-improvement tools to support efficient engagement delivery.\nCollaborate with Seniors, Managers, Directors, and professionals across Elliott Davis to deliver high-quality customer solutions.\nActively seek feedback and development opportunities while building the skills needed to take ownership of larger workstreams.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nTypically 2 to 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting audit experience or comparable experience providing a strong foundation in financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and internal controls.\nExperience preparing or auditing account reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, or related accounting schedules.\nStrong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nNaturally curious, accountable, coachable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in changing environments.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate directly with customers.\nProficiency with Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA license or progress toward CPA licensure.\nExperience in CAAS/CAS, outsourced accounting, accounting advisory, or operational accounting.\nExperience with accounting cleanup, cash-to-accrual conversions, month-end close, process improvement, or ERP systems.\nExperience with private equity-backed, healthcare, biotech, life sciences, distribution, manufacturing, or growth-oriented organizations.\nWHY YOU SHOULD JOIN US\nWe believe that when our employees are able to thrive in all facets of life, their work and impact are that much greater.\nThat's right - all aspects of life, not just your life as an employee, because we understand that there's life beyond your job.
