Ultimately, EllisDon’s purpose is to provide people with similar values the opportunity to achieve to their full potential; to deliver that opportunity for great careers to one another; and to contribute meaningfully to the community we share with others.\nIn case you’re curious, here’s what the industry thinks of us and some of the impacts we've made to the communities we work in and our latest Impact Report, highlighting how we're putting our values into practice in areas such as the climate & environment, inclusive diversity, indigenous relations, and health and safety.\nYou as a PayrollTeam Leadwill be responsible for:\nPayroll Operations\nOversee the processing of multiple payrolls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable legislation, union agreements and company policies.\n\nReview and approve payroll transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations as required.\n\nMonitor payroll deadlines and coordinate workload distribution across the team.\n\nIdentify and resolve complex payroll issues, escalating matters when necessary.\n\nTeam Leadership & Support\nProvide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to Payroll Administrators.\n\nReview work completed by Payroll Administrators and provide feedback to ensure quality and accuracy.\n\nSupport training of new payroll team members.\n\nFoster a collaborative team environment.\n\nSupport for Payroll Implementation\nAct as the primary support resource for Payroll Supervisors while they are engaged in payroll implementation activities.\n\nAssist with testing, validation, process documentation, and issue resolution related to system implementations and enhancements as required.\n\nEnsure payroll operations continue to run efficiently during implementation periods.\n\nCommunicate process changes and support the team through transition activities.\n\nCompliance & Continuous Improvement\nEnsure adherence to payroll legislation, company policies, and internal controls.\n\nParticipate in process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and service delivery.\n\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.\n\nSupport audits and payroll-related reporting requirements.\n\nIs this role right for you?\nPayroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required; Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation considered an asset.\n\nMinimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a multi-jurisdiction or multi-payroll environment.\n\nPrevious leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.\n\nStrong knowledge of payroll legislation, payroll systems, and payroll best practices.\n\nExperience supporting payroll system implementations or major system changes is an asset.\n\nExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines.\n\nStrong knowledge of unionized payroll environments, with the ability to interpret and apply collective agreements accurately and consistently.\n\nDemonstrated experience resolving payroll matters related to collective agreement provisions, including pay rules, premiums, leaves, and entitlements.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze payroll data, perform reconciliations, create reports, and utilize functions such as XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and formulas to support payroll operations.\n\nThe salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000\nEllisDon is proud to provide this unique career opportunity that provides continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package within an environment that is committed to inclusion and respects diversity.\nGo ahead and be yourself.
