Ultimately, EllisDon’s purpose is to provide people with similar values the opportunity to achieve to their full potential; to deliver that opportunity for great careers to one another; and to contribute meaningfully to the community we share with others.\nIn case you’re curious, here’s what the industry thinks of us and some of the impacts we've made to the communities we work in and our latest Impact Report, highlighting how we're putting our values into practice in areas such as the climate & environment, inclusive diversity, indigenous relations, and health and safety.\nJob Description\nNature and Scope Objective\nWork closely with EllisDon MEiT Electrical & ICAT Design and Pre-construction team across EllisDon business sectors and various business areas on pursuits and active projects.\nAs a Senior Design Coordinator, Electrical & ICAT you will:\nAssist in pre-construction services for various sectors where electrical systems are more complex (health care, mission critical, justice and educational)\nAssist in the review and provide input on conceptual electrical design and technology approach on building system solutions in order to provide a complete and competitive bid for design build pursuits\nAnalyzing the design against the project requirements identified by the client\nAssist in the review of sub-trades financial submission and evaluate the bid is competitiveness and compliance\nAssist in the preparation of the subtrade scope delineation matrices and other process tools to assure no scope gaps or scope overlap between MEIT during pursuit\nAssist in the preparation of budget target for the electrical/ICAT scope during the pursuit\nCoordinating drawings, narratives and visual presentations for the design presentation meetings and submissions\nEnsure the electrical design solutions are well understood by the Project Team and implemented during construction and operations phase of the project\nLiases directly with the design team, the consultant team, the trade contractors and other members of the project team on a regular basis.\nSupport the estimating team during the pursuit and the construction team after the pursuit to establish the temporary power and lighting required during construction (includes developing single line diagrams, preparing load calculations and lighting calculations)\nLiaison with the Utilities (power and communications) for new (construction and permanent) site services\nExperience with various Engineering Applications (Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP…)\nOther Responsibilities\nPerform additional assignments as directed by superiors\nClosely monitor and track Astley Gilbert invoicing to ensure costing is correct\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience\n2+ years or more of design experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.\nAbility to obtain P.Eng license is an asset.\nDesign experience on utility projects is an asset\nMust have solid knowledge of the governing Codes and Standards for buildings. Has solid knowledge of high and low voltage systems.\nExcellent presentation and communication skills required. Strong conceptual skills required for developing innovative design solutions and identifying potential construction conflicts.\nWorking knowledge of design coordination amongst multiple disciplines, including typical standards, practices and procedures.\nTechnical knowledge of Electrical, Communications, Mechanical, Architectural and Power Supply and Distribution System design is an asset.\nPossesses solid working knowledge of common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint etc.).\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. \nThe salary range for this job is: $85,000- 95,000 CAD\nEllisDon is proud to provide this unique career opportunity that provides continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package within an environment that is committed to inclusion and respects diversity.\nGo ahead and be yourself.
