Their innovative ideas enhance cost-efficiency and product improvement.\nAs a Metallurgical Engineer you will be an integral part of the team that drives ELLWOOD’s success.\nKey Responsibilities may include:\nMetallurgical Analysis & Process Support\nPerform metallurgical evaluations, including microstructural analysis, mechanical testing, heat-treatment verification, and failure analysis.\nDevelop, optimize, and troubleshoot metal-processing routes such as casting, forging, heat treating, welding, rolling, or machining.\nMonitor material quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure compliance with specifications.\nProduction Floor Support\nProvide hands-on technical guidance to operators and supervisors to resolve metallurgical or process deviations.\nConduct root-cause investigations for defects, non-conformances, and equipment-related metallurgical issues.\nSupport implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nQuality & Compliance\nEnsure metallurgical processes align with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and customer requirements.\nPrepare and maintain metallurgical documentation, test reports, and production records.\nReview and approve material certifications and metallurgical test results.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve product performance, yield, and throughput.\nLead metallurgical trials, process experiments, and cost-reduction initiatives.\nSupport new product development and qualification activities.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on metallurgical experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (steel, foundry, forging, machining, fabrication, or similar).\nStrong understanding of metal properties, heat-treatment processes, failure mechanisms, and material specifications.\nExperience with metallurgical lab equipment (hardness tester, microscope, tensile tester, spectrometer, etc.).\nAbility to work on the shop floor, troubleshoot issues in real time, and communicate effectively with production teams.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.\nFamiliarity with quality systems and industrial safety practices.\nAdditional qualifications\nExperience with alloy steels, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, or high-temperature materials.\nKnowledge of welding metallurgy or casting metallurgy.\nExposure to advanced characterization (SEM/EDS) or statistical process control (SPC).\nELLWOOD Group Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
