Through advanced materials processing and precision manufacturing capabilities, Elmet produces high-performance products for some of the world's most demanding applications.\nOur Lewiston, Maine facility is focused on operational excellence, customer delivery, and continuously improving how we plan and execute production across a complex manufacturing environment.\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking a Production Planner to join our Logistics & Planning team at our Lewiston, Maine facility.\nReporting to the Director of Planning, the Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align customer demand with manufacturing capacity, material availability, and operational priorities. This position manages the flow of work-in-process and finished products to help ensure customer commitments and production objectives are achieved.\nThe Production Planner will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to identify potential schedule constraints, resolve material or capacity issues, and continuously improve manufacturing performance.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nCreate and maintain production schedules for make-to-stock and make-to-order products using ERP/MRP systems \nEvaluate customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and labor requirements to establish manufacturing priorities \nCreate, release, and manage production work orders while monitoring progress against established schedules \nIdentify schedule risks, material shortages, capacity constraints, and production backlogs and develop recovery plans as needed \nMaintain accurate ERP/MRP data, including inventory balances, bills of material, routings, and product master information \nPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Commercial teams to resolve scheduling issues and support on-time delivery \nAnalyze production and inventory data to identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce lead times, and optimize resource utilization \nSupport continuous improvement of factory planning processes, production reporting, and manufacturing performance \nWhat Success Looks Like\nProduction schedules accurately reflect customer demand and manufacturing capabilities \nImproved on-time delivery and schedule adherence \nProduction constraints and material shortages identified and addressed proactively \nAccurate work orders, inventory information, and ERP/MRP data \nEffective communication of production priorities across departments \nReduced backlogs and improved flow of material through manufacturing \nData-driven improvements to planning and production performance \nIdeal Candidate Profile\nAssociate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered \n2+ years of production planning, scheduling, buying/planning, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment preferred \nStrong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, including extracting, analyzing, and maintaining system data \nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience analyzing and manipulating production data \nUnderstanding of manufacturing principles, capacity planning, inventory management, and production scheduling \nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Theory of Constraints is a plus \nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple departments and levels of the organization \nAPICS certification or similar supply chain certification preferred \nWhy Join Elmet Technologies\n Benefits Starting from Day 1, including medical, dental, and vision insurance \nPlay a key role in coordinating production for a complex advanced manufacturing operation \nWork directly with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Commercial teams \nOpportunity to improve production flow, customer delivery, inventory performance, and planning processes \nGain exposure to manufacturing serving aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy industries \nCompetitive compensation, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, tuition assistance, and professional development opportunities \nSearch Process Note\nThe Elmet Group is managing this search directly and is not accepting submissions from outside recruitment firms.\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nThe Elmet Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a proud federal contractor.
