Through innovation in editorial workflows and publishing technology, we help global research communities discover, evaluate, and disseminate knowledge that advances science and improves lives.\nAbout the Role\nThe Associate Scientific Editor will join the Author Heroes team, helping authors navigate the publishing journey and find the most suitable home for their research. In this role, you will use your scientific expertise, editorial judgement, and communication skills to support authors, enhance editorial processes, and contribute to the publication of high-quality scientific content.\nResponsibilities\nEvaluating content as a partner to external editors\nImproving the editorial process for editors and reviewers iteratively\nEngaging closely with authors to help them improve their manuscripts\nManaging the editorial process for papers, from submission through peer review to the final decision\nHelping authors increase their odds of success in being published in another journal if rejected from their first choice\nRecruit and manage external editors, holding them to the same standard\nContent evaluation is based on questions such as:\nIs the article submitted within the aims and scope of the journal(s)?\nDoes the science make sense?\nDo the results support the main conclusions?\nHave the authors chosen an appropriate method?\nIs the manuscript of sufficient quality?\nIs this the right journal for this work, or could the authors improve their manuscript to increase their odds of success at another journal?\nOur Editors offer authors guidance and ensure a smooth overall experience for authors who submit to our journals.\nRequirements\nDemonstrate a professional level of written and spoken English\nDemonstrate an experimental, results-driven, and enthusiastic work attitude\nHave a record of having published papers in scientific journals\nStay technology-savvy, familiar with online platforms, social media, and digital content\nExhibit good communication skills and excellent written and spoken English\nBuild relationships and act as a self-starter.
