Our team’s primary focus within the RDP is on harvesting and transforming datasets to feed Elsevier’s data products. Projects include:\nResponsibilities\nWorking primarily in Java or Python.\nContributing code to new and existing projects, debug, take part in code reviews.\nWorking with large data sets to harvest and process data through our internal systems, fueling core Elsevier products.\nBeyond Python and Java experience, we work with the following technologies regularly: Confluent Kafka, Kubernetes, Linked-Data/RDF/JSON-LD, Databricks, Terraform, Github Actions, Apache Airflow, and Apache Iceberg. Experience with any of them is a plus.\nRequirements\nPossess current and extensive Java/Python Development skills\nHave proficiency with data manipulation languages.\nHave ability to work with data models.\nExperience in in development languages including but not limited to: Java, Spring Boot, XML, SQL, and UNIX.\nHave basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).\nHave ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.\nBilingual - Ability to communicate professionally in both English and French.
