With a focus on quality, rigor, and collaboration, we work to foster a global community of researchers and thought leaders who are committed to shaping the future of science.\nAbout the Role\niScience is looking to expand the team of scientific editors working on iScience (https://www.cell.com/iscience), an exciting broad scope open access journal publishing in the life and physical sciences.\nWe are seeking to add a dynamic and enthusiastic Associate or Scientific Editor, depending on experience, who shares our passion for helping scientists publish their work in a straightforward and timely way.\nResponsibilities\nRecruiting exciting research papers for submission to iScience and fostering communities of interest\n\nAssess submitted research papers\n\nOversee the peer review process for direct submissions and transferred contributions\n\nEstablish relationships with researchers\n\nRecruit exciting research papers and reviews for submission to iScience\n\nRepresent the journal and Cell Press at scientific meetings, and visits to research institutions\n\nWork collaboratively with academic editorial board members and editors\n\nBuild effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond\n\nThis is a full-time in-house editorial position based in one of our offices in China in a remote or hybrid model.\nRequirements\nPhD in Life or Health science is a must. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Medical/Health Sciences with a strong translational scientific background and network.\n\nPrevious editorial experience is desirable but not required. We are open to hiring at more senior levels for candidates with appropriate experience.\n\nApplicants with a professional background such as running a research group or working in industry are also encouraged.\n\nBroad scientific interests, a desire to learn, and the ability to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues. As a scientific editor, you will need to develop an understanding of the diverse areas covered by the journal, as well as be open to exciting emerging topics.\n\nGreat interpersonal skills.
