We provide analytics services primarily using Databricks, supporting Product Owners, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Research Data Platform domain teams. Our work contributes to Elsevier products including Scopus and SciVal.\nAbout the Role:-\nAs a Senior Data Analyst, you will independently deliver complex analytical activities using Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and related technologies. You will work with Product Owners and other stakeholders to analyse large datasets, create advanced-level insights and recommendations, assess data and product quality, and support the development and improvement of data products.\nResponsibilities:-\nThe Senior Data Analyst role will support Product Owners or Data Scientists working within the domains of the Research Data Platform.\n\nDomains are functional units responsible for delivering one or more data products, often through data science algorithms.\n\nThe role may involve a wide range of analytical activities, including analyzing large datasets to answer questions from Product Owners or Data Scientists.\n\nThe role may also include large-scale data preparation to test hypotheses, support prototypes, and review the precision and recall of data science algorithms at scale.\n\nCandidates should have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and expertise in at least one data analysis system, along with curiosity and a commitment to high-quality work.\n\nSince the role requires communication with stakeholders across the world, candidates should demonstrate a high level of English proficiency.\n\nRequirements:-\nExpected skills: Databricks, Python, Pandas, PySpark, Apache Spark, Snowflake, JIRA, Tableau, Power BI\n\nMinimum of 5 years of work experience in business intelligence, data engineering, analytics, data analysis, or related discipline\n\nStrong SQL skills, including experience working with large and complex datasets.\n\nCoding skills in at least one programming language, preferably Python\n\nFamiliarity with common string manipulation functions or libraries, such as regular expressions (regex)\n\nPractical experience using Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Pandas, or similar distributed data-processing technologies.\n\nPractical experience analysing, transforming, and validating structured or tabular data using tools or libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, Databricks, or Snowflake.\n\nExperience using basic statistics relevant to data science, such as precision, recall, and statistical significance\n\nKnowledge of visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, is a plus\n\nExperience working with Agile tools, such as JIRA, is a plus\n\nStrong understanding of data-quality dimensions, analytical validation, and root-cause analysis.\n\nStakeholder Management\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with Product Managers and Data Scientists.\n\nAlign activities with Product Managers and Data Scientists.\n\nPresent achievements and project status updates, both in writing and verbally, to various stakeholders.\n\nCompetency\nBusiness & Requirements Analysis: Elicits, structures and documents requirements to support effective delivery.\n\nDelivery Focus: Supports teams to move from intent to implementation through clear, high-quality delivery artefacts.\n\nCollaboration: Works effectively with product, engineering and governance stakeholders.\n\nCommunication: Clearly explains requirements, analysis and delivery implications to technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nKey Results\nUnderstand the requirements of a given task\n\nIdentify, gather, prepare, and refine data\n\nInterpret and analyze large datasets\n\nReport findings to stakeholders through effective storytelling\n\nFormulate recommendations and requirements\n\nIdentify and address new opportunities\n\nWork in a way that works for you: -\nWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organization.
