All for the benefit of every patient.\nAbout the Role:\nWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to join our global technology team supporting Learning Products. In this role, you will design, build, and enhance scalable backend services that power innovative healthcare education solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, high-quality software while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, build, and own backend services across one or more delivery lanes within Learning Products, including Courseware, Sherpath, and emerging products.\n\nDrive features end-to-end with a high level of ownership, from requirements and design through implementation, integration, and production readiness.\n\nCollaborate closely with product, architecture, and quality engineering partners to translate business needs into scalable and maintainable solutions.\n\nContribute to system and service design, ensuring alignment with platform architecture and promoting reuse of existing capabilities.\n\nDeliver high-quality, reliable software that meets defined readiness criteria, including story-level completeness, dependency integration, and production stability.\n\nBuild and maintain robust APIs and data models that support performance, scalability, and reliability.\n\nEnsure proper observability through effective logging, monitoring, and alerting.\n\nMentor engineers and support team growth through knowledge sharing and guidance.\n\nRequirements:\nSoftware engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.\n\nHands-on experience building scalable RESTful services using Java and Spring Boot.\n\nExperience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling and basic query optimization.\n\nAbility to own features end-to-end, from design and implementation through deployment and production support.\n\nExperience working across multiple services or components within distributed or service-based architectures.\n\nSolid understanding of API design, system integration, and managing dependencies across teams.\n\nExperience integrating backend services into CI/CD pipelines and supporting reliable deployment practices.\n\nStrong debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills\n\nWork in a Way That Works for You:\nWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
