This role will provide a unique opportunity to work across a broad range of scientific topics. As a member of the Trends Open team, you will work directly with the Editor in Chief to develop the very best review articles that span the life and medical sciences. We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills and a large breadth of research experience in life and medical sciences. A wide interest in science outside of one’s own expertise is highly encouraged. In this role, you will be supporting authors to optimize overall publishing success. This is a full-time editorial position based in our China offices. Please include a cover letter describing why you are interested in the position and how your skills and knowledge could contribute to your success in this role.\nResponsibilities\nIdentify key authors and research topics where a review will benefit the research community.\nManage a pipeline of high-quality articles across the breadth of the field.\nManage the peer review and editorial process.\nEdit manuscripts to enhance scientific messaging and clarity.\nWork alongside the Editor-in-Chief and Cell Press editorial family to grow visibility of Trends Open.\nRepresent the journal at conferences and public forums, promoting its impact and engaging with the wider scientific community.\nExecute AI- and data-driven innovations and experiments to meet the evolving needs of the journal community.\nRequirements:\nPhD with a focus on research in life or medical sciences; post-doctoral training is a plus.\nPrior editorial or developmental editing experience is highly recommended.\nA genuine passion for science and scientific communication.\nStrong interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic approach to time management and organization.\nAbility to work both in a team dynamic and independently, impartially, and proactively.\nA can-do attitude accompanied by a strategic mindset and solution-oriented approach.\nHow to Apply\nPlease attach a copy of your English CV and an English cover letter outlining your reasons for interest in the position (applications without cover letter will not be considered).
