This is a hands-on senior role at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and production operations. You’ll make architecture decisions, take services from design through deployment and ongoing operation, and help ensure our systems remain scalable, secure, observable, and resilient across cloud and on-prem environments. Join us to work on hard, meaningful problems alongside people who care about getting them right, and to help shape one of the defining technology shifts of the decade.\nIt’s time to scale up both the product and the team, and we’re looking for people to win with!\nYou will…\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data models that support Elsight’s products and customer deployments.\nOwn services end to end - from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.\nBuild and evolve systems that run across cloud and on-prem environments, with a strong focus on reliability, security, performance, and high availability.\nImprove our infrastructure and delivery foundations, including containerization, orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, and internal developer tooling.\nStrengthen observability by defining meaningful metrics, dashboards, alerts, and SLOs, and by driving root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.\nTroubleshoot complex distributed-system, integration, and production issues using structured, hands-on problem solving.\nContribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards, review code, create reusable patterns, and mentor other engineers.\nCollaborate closely with Product, Firmware/Hardware, and R&D stakeholders, clearly communicating technical tradeoffs and turning product needs into robust solutions.\nRequirements\nApply if you have…\n8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with deep expertise in designing and building production-grade backend systems.\nStrong knowledge of backend architecture, distributed systems, API design, databases, data modeling, scalability, and performance.\nProven end-to-end ownership of services in production, including deployment, observability, debugging, incident response, and root-cause analysis.\nHands-on experience with cloud and infrastructure technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.\nExperience supporting systems across cloud and on-prem environments; familiarity with high-availability or multi-cloud architectures is a strong advantage.\nStrong programming skills in a modern backend language. Experience with Go or Rust is highly valued; Python is also relevant, and C/C++ is an advantage.\nExperience building SaaS, platform, security, cyber, SRE, or other mission-critical systems where reliability and operational excellence matter.\nStrong system-level understanding, including Linux, networking, security best practices, IAM, and secrets management.\nA track record of making pragmatic architecture decisions, writing high-quality code, reviewing others’ work, and mentoring engineers.\nClear communication, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to explain complex technical tradeoffs to different audiences.\nAn ownership-driven, curious, and quality-focused mindset, with the ability to work independently and solve ambiguous problems in a fast-moving R&D environment.\nIf you’ve made it this far and are excited about the opportunity, don’t let a few unchecked boxes hold you back.
