Our technology enables high-performance wireless communications for applications ranging from satellite communications to advanced terrestrial systems.\nWe are looking for engineers to join our team and help develop and manufacture cutting-edge RF technology. If you are passionate about RF systems, test automation, hardware, and building tools that directly improve how products are tested and manufactured, we want to hear from you.\nJob Description\nThe RF Test Automation Engineer will develop, automate, and maintain RF test procedures and the software frameworks used to support production and engineering testing.\nThis role requires a strong foundation in RF testing combined with the ability to develop and maintain production-quality software. The engineer will translate engineering requirements into useful and technically valid RF test procedures, automate those procedures within reusable test frameworks, and support their continued use and improvement across production.\nThis is a highly hands-on role. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across RF hardware, test instrumentation, software, and production systems and troubleshooting issues that may span all of those areas.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop RF test procedures based on engineering and product requirements\nAutomate RF testing using reusable and maintainable software frameworks\nDevelop and maintain test software, including data acquisition, processing, logging, and reporting\nInterface with RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and related instrumentation\nTroubleshoot issues spanning test software, instrumentation, test setups, and RF hardware\nPartner with RF, test, manufacturing, and product engineers to improve test coverage, repeatability, and throughput\nImplement appropriate software debugging, logging, error handling, and version control practices\nPrepare for and participate in live customer product demonstrations\nDocument test methods, software, and results clearly for engineering and production users\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nStrong understanding of RF fundamentals and common RF parameters, including S-parameters, gain, output power, noise power, compression, and linearity\nHands-on experience using RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators\nExperience with object-oriented programming in Python and/or C++\nExperience using version control systems such as Git\nUnderstanding of software debugging, logging, and error-handling practices\nAbility to troubleshoot problems spanning software, instrumentation, and RF hardware\nAbility to translate engineering requirements into practical and repeatable test procedures\nStrong communication and technical documentation skills\nComfortable working directly with hardware and production test systems in a hands-on environment\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing and automating RF test routines from engineering requirements\nExperience with RF instrument automation using SCPI, VISA, or similar interfaces\nExperience with VNA calibration and de-embedding techniques\nExperience developing and maintaining data acquisition, processing, and reporting frameworks\nUnderstanding of RF linearity metrics such as EVM, NPR, ACPR, and C/3IM\nExperience with high-power RF testing\nExperience with millimeter-wave RF systems\nBackground in RF systems, signal processing, RF design, or RF data analysis\nExperience with environmental or qualification testing\n2+ years of relevant engineering experience in a commercial, laboratory, or production environment\nBenefits\nBenefits Include:\nThe salary range for this position is $85,000 to $150,000 annually\nHealth benefits (medical, dental, vision)\nVacation\nA taste of the start-up life\nExposure to cutting-edge technology in vacuum electronics, materials science, and additive manufacturing\nWhat it’s like to work at Elve\nWe are an expanding team, on a mission to bring the next generation of high-speed wireless connectivity to a billion people worldwide. That kind of impact is not going to be achieved with incremental improvements- we are gunning for orders of magnitude advances in production capability, cost, size, and power in the mm-wave RF amplifier market. We work really hard, make sure we get good sleep, we handle conflict intentionally, and we expect great things from each other.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4644,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-29T06:14:23Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":60,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.602,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":21,"reasons":["conf:4","stale_co","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-03T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/elve-speed-test-automation-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/elve-speed-test-automation-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-04T01:44:51Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2332,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2668,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-05T00:00:00Z"}}}
