Join us.\nJob Summary\nAs an Electrical Engineer at Elveo, you will function in many roles to use and expand your knowledge of electronics and PCB design. You will be given ownership of your project through the complete hardware development cycle. Along the way you will be responsible for circuit design, schematic capture, and layout of complex PCBAs. These boards often contain some combination of high-speed digital signals, high power DC-DC converters, and analog circuitry. You will also be collaborating with RF engineers in the design of boards containing RF circuitry.\nWe are a small team, and emphasize rapid iteration as part of our hardware development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team, engaging in system-level design discussions, and taking ownership of individual subsystems as an individual contributor. Candidates should also have experience or interest across a wide breadth of electronics disciplines, and should be comfortable working in both a design and laboratory environment, and have experience designing systems intended for harsh environments.\nExperience with satellites is not a requirement for this position. We welcome candidates across experience levels, from exceptional early career to seasoned engineers; title, scope, and compensation scale with experience.\nCore Responsibilities\nDesigning multilayer PCBAs, incorporating EMI/EMC best practices and considering deployment in harsh environments (thermal cycles, mechanical shock, vibration, etc.).\n\nOwnership over the complete lifecycle PCB multi-layer design from schematic capture and layout through board bring-up and test\n\nDevelop and analyze complex power trees.\n\nCollaborate closely with RTL and software teams to define pinouts, bank voltages, and clocking architectures that optimize PCB routing.\n\nCollaborate closely with mechanical teams on PCB enclosure and thermal design\n\nBasic Qualifications\nA bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering\n\nStrong grasp of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) in low-to-medium volume, high-complexity production.\n\nExperience with multilayer PCB schematic capture and layout, as well as board bring-up and testing\n\nExperience designing systems for harsh environments (space, aviation, automotive, etc.)\n\nExperience with common low speed digital interfaces (I2C, CAN, UART, etc.)\n\nExperience with EMI/EMC best practices\n\nBasic experience writing FPGA RTL or microcontroller firmware\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nUnderstanding of FPGA and SoC hardware requirements, including power distribution, high-speed SERDES routing (PCIe, multi-gigabit ethernet, etc.), memory interfaces, etc.\n\nBasic understanding of RF circuits and RF PCB layout\n\nExperience working in a startup or small team environment\n\nExperience designing spacecraft avionics systems\n\nAdvanced experience writing FPGA RTL or microcontroller firmware\n\nITAR Requirements:\nTo comply with U.S. Government export control regulations (ITAR), applicants must be one of the following: (i) a U.S. citizen or national, (ii) a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) an asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.
