Elveo brings together a combined 20 years of expertise to close the coverage gap for more than 50 mobile network operators (MNOs) and major distribution partners operating in 60+ countries worldwide.\nThat heritage and our technology powers what we call ‘elevated intelligence’ - a new approach that processes and adapts on orbit, delivering voice and data services straight to mobile users, IoT devices and machines across enterprise, government and humanitarian sectors worldwide.\nAs a team, we’re on a mission to deliver powerful compute and connectivity directly to individuals and objects everywhere on Earth.\nJoin us, and become part of a globally inclusive company that is transforming satellite communications from a niche service to an essential global infrastructure, and democratizing connectivity for billions worldwide.\nReady to take the next step? Join us.\nJob Summary\nElveo is looking for an NPD Buyer to purchase the parts and services that development builds depend on. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager NPD and working directly with the NPD team and Development Engineering, the buyer places and expedites orders for prototype and low-volume material, often with short lead times and changing designs. The role keeps development builds moving and records what is learned so parts transition cleanly into production.\nSuccess in this role requires purchasing experience in electronics or aerospace, comfort reading a BOM, and the ability to move fast without losing control of cost and paperwork. Aerospace experience is welcome but not required; buyers from electronics, automotive or medical device development environments are equally valuable.\nCore Responsibilities\nPlace and manage purchase orders for NPD material and services, to the dates the NPD team needs.\n\nSource and qualify suppliers for prototype and low-volume buys, and find alternates when parts are scarce.\n\nExpedite long-lead items and chase deliveries until parts are on the bench.\n\nTrack NPD spend against budget and report open commitments.\n\nRead BOMs and engineering changes, and confirm part and revision accuracy before ordering.\n\nMaintain supplier, part-status and pricing data in ERP/PLM.\n\nCoordinate receipt of NPD material with Shipping/Receiving and Receiving Inspection.\n\nFlag risk and cost issues early to the Supply Chain Manager NPD.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.\n\n5+ years of purchasing experience in electronics, aerospace or other hardware development.\n\nExperience reading BOMs and buying electronic components, assemblies or machined parts.\n\nERP/PLM skills and strong Excel.\n\nStrong negotiation and follow-up.\n\nComfortable handling changing priorities with short lead times.\n\nFamiliarity with export-control requirements preferred.\n\nClear written and verbal communication.\n\nEligible to access export-controlled technical data (for example, U.S. person status under ITAR/EAR)\n\nITAR Requirements\nTo comply with U.S. Government export control regulations (ITAR), applicants must be one of the following: (i) a U.S. citizen or national, (ii) a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) an asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158. Individuals who do not meet these criteria must be eligible to obtain the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. For more information, please refer to the ITAR guidelines.\nLearn about ITARhere.\nJob Location\nChantilly, VA","description_format":"text","description_chars":3562,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":true,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Satellite Communications","Satellite Manufacturing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-28T02:14:17Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":36,"reasons":["conf:3","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-30T05:48:23Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/elveo-npd-buyer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/elveo-npd-buyer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-30T22:10:58Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":12817,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-31T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":3882146},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=3882146"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Felveo-npd-buyer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Felveo-npd-buyer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Felveo-npd-buyer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/elveo-npd-buyer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Felveo-npd-buyer"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3374256}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"elveo.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3374256},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
