Technician\nLocation: Redhill, Surrey\nSalary: £32,000 + Benefits\nType: Full-Time, Permanent\nThe Opportunity:\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Datacomms Technician to join a specialist Enterprise Engineering team supporting global communications infrastructure across satellite networks, maritime environments, remote sites and enterprise customer networks.\nThis role would suit someone with experience in networking, telecommunications, ISP support, NOC operations, IT infrastructure, technical support or datacomms who is looking to develop within a highly technical engineering environment.\nYou will support the delivery, installation, testing and maintenance of customer networking solutions while working alongside experienced Datacomms and Network Engineers on a wide variety of projects.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport the build, implementation, testing, commissioning and installation of customer network solutions\nInvestigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across customer communications and networking environments\nSupport TCP/IP-based networks including routing, switching and firewall technologies\nAssist with the deployment and maintenance of satellite communications, LTE and enterprise networking solutions\nSupport customer projects both from the Redhill office and at remote customer locations when required\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for customer projects and solutions\nAssist with the evaluation and testing of new technologies, products and services\nWork closely with Engineering, Networks, Security and Customer Support teams\nParticipate in engineering support activities and customer escalations\nKeep up to date with emerging networking and communications technologies\nEssential Skills and Experience:\nExperience within a networking, telecommunications, ISP, NOC, IT infrastructure or technical support environment\nGood knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts including routing, switching and firewalling\nExperience diagnosing and troubleshooting technical faults\nStrong communication and customer-facing skills\nAbility to work independently and within a team environment\nProfessional, proactive and customer-focused approach\nStrong willingness to learn and develop technical expertise\nDesirable Skills & Experience:\nExperience supporting WAN, LAN or enterprise networking environments\nLinux or Windows Server administration knowledge\nAsterisk or VoIP platform exposure\nProgramming or scripting knowledge (Bash, Perl or similar)\nExposure to satellite communications technologies\nCisco networking certifications (CCNA or equivalent)\nExperience with project delivery or technical implementations\nHNC, HND or Degree in Networking,
