Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen & Macau\nLanguages: Mandarin & English\nWe’re looking for an experienced EHS professional to take ownership of Environmental, Health & Safety activities across multiple corporate locations in China.\nThis is a senior, hands-on consulting assignment where you’ll operate as the primary EHS subject matter expert for China, working closely with regional APAC leadership and local stakeholders.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nLead EHS compliance across multiple sites in China\nEnsure compliance with Chinese occupational health, safety, environmental and fire safety legislation\nImplement global EHS standards while adapting them to local regulatory requirements\nConduct workplace risk assessments, audits and compliance reviews\nManage statutory reporting and regulatory documentation\nLead incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis\nDevelop and track corrective action plans\nPrepare EHS metrics, dashboards and management-level reporting\nDeliver EHS training, communications and awareness programmes\nSupport emergency preparedness, fire safety and business continuity activities\nWork with Workplace, Facilities, HR, Security, landlords, contractors and business leaders\nEngage with regulators and support regulatory inspections where required\nContribute to wider APAC EHS programmes\nWhat we need:\nA China-recognised EHS qualification/certification in Occupational Safety and Fire Engineering, such as Certified Safety Engineer or equivalent\nDegree or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering or a related discipline\nMinimum 5 years’ senior-level EHS experience\nProven experience managing EHS across multiple locations\nExperience within multinational corporate environments\nStrong knowledge of Chinese EHS, occupational safety and fire safety legislation\nExperience with audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and regulatory compliance\nConfidence working independently and influencing senior stakeholders\nProfessional proficiency in both Mandarin and English\nWhat will make you particularly relevant:\nYou’ve previously been the person people turn to when there is an EHS question, rather than someone who simply supports the person making the decision.\nYou’re comfortable balancing global corporate EHS standards with the realities of Chinese legislation and local regulatory requirements, and you’ve managed compliance across more than one site.\nSome travel within China will be required, including support across
