/ Technical Writer\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Trainer / Technical Writerto develop high-quality technical documentation, training materials, and learning programs supporting a large-scale federal healthcare modernization initiative.\nThis individual will work closely with technical teams, product owners, business analysts, subject matter experts (SMEs), and program stakeholders to translate complex systems, processes, and technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation and effective training.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical writing, instructional design, training delivery, and stakeholder collaboration skillsand is comfortable supporting enterprise technology implementations and organizational change.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Writing & Documentation\nDevelop, edit, and maintain technical and end-user documentation for enterprise applications and business processes.\nCreate user guides, system manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quick-reference guides, FAQs, job aids, and knowledge-base content.\nTranslate complex technical information into clear documentation appropriate for technical and non-technical audiences.\nCollaborate with SMEs, developers, engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather and validate documentation requirements.\nMaintain documentation throughout application releases, enhancements, and process changes.\nEstablish consistent documentation templates, terminology, formatting, and quality standards.\nManage document revisions, version control, and review cycles.\nReview existing documentation and identify opportunities to improve usability, accuracy, and consistency.\nTraining & Instructional Support\nDesign and develop instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training materials.\nDevelop training presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, exercises, job aids, and other learning resources.\nDeliver technical and application training to end users and stakeholder groups.\nConduct training needs assessments and identify learning requirements for new systems or functionality.\nCollaborate with SMEs to develop accurate course content and learning objectives.\nSupport train-the-trainer initiatives and knowledge transfer activities.\nCollect feedback and evaluate training effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement.\nSupport user adoption associated with system implementations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Instructional Design, Education, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.\n5+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, technical training, or a combination of these areas.\nDemonstrated experience creating technical and end-user documentation for software or enterprise technology.\nExperience developing training materials and delivering technical or application-based training.\nAbility to translate complex technical concepts into concise, understandable content.\nExperience collaborating with technical SMEs and business stakeholders.\nStrong writing, editing, proofreading, presentation, and facilitation skills.\nExperience developing content for both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documentation and training deliverables.\nFamiliarity with Agile software development or technology implementation environments.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and modern collaboration/documentation platforms.\nAbility to meet applicable federal background investigation requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting federal government, federal healthcare, health IT, or other large technology modernization programs.\nExperience developing training and documentation for enterprise software applications.\nExperience supporting system implementations, migrations, or modernization initiatives.\nKnowledge of accessibility considerations, including Section 508, for electronic documents and training content.\nExperience with learning management systems (LMS).\nExperience developing eLearning or computer-based training.\nFamiliarity with tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, SharePoint, or Confluence.\nExperience supporting Agile or SAFe delivery environments.\n**Disclaimer: This position is contingent upon ELYON’s
