Our AI Employees take on the busy work across the employee experience, from recruiting, onboarding and benefits to IT support, invoice processing and payroll, so people can spend their time on work that needs them. Founded by former executives from Google, Coinbase, Flipkart, and Okta, our team includes engineers from premier tech companies and graduates of Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, CMU, and IITs.\nWe are backed by industry leading investors including Accel, Naspers/Prosus, Creaegis, Section32, and angels like Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Headquartered in Silicon Valley and with offices in London, Bangalore and Vancouver, Ema is at the frontier of what Agentic AI can do in production. We ship real systems that run real business processes at scale.\nAt Ema, we build AI Employees that operate inside the enterprise. Healthcare is where the bar is highest: the output has to be accurate, auditable, and clinically sound.\nWe're opening a part-time role focused on agent measurement and improvement. You'll instrument how our healthcare AI Employees perform in production, identify where quality breaks down, and design the experiments that close the gap - partnering with clinical experts to ensure improvements translate into better patient outcomes, not just better metrics.\nWe're looking for strong analytical judgment (Python, agent lead development), comfort operating with incomplete information, and genuine interest in the healthcare domain. Clinical experience is valued but not required.\nThis engagement is structured as a paid internship or contract engagement, with weekly syncs in our Bay Area office.\nCompensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.\nEma Unlimited is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetics.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2175,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["LLM & Generative AI","AI Agents"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-10T18:43:48Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":76,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.846,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":58,"expected_fill_days":142,"reasons":["conf:1","velocity","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-10-16T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/ema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/ema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-16T19:36:11Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":5293,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-17T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":26744},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=26744"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/ema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fema-ai-application-engineer-contractor-role"}]}
