This milestone is accelerating our international expansion and strengthening our ambition to become the AI-native treasury platform powering the next generation of global finance teams.\nWe are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Team in Madrid.\nThis is not a “traditional accounting” role. We are looking for someone hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced scale-up environment where deadlines are real and the volume of operations is high. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability of our financial data while helping us build scalable accounting processes for the next stage of Embat’s growth.\nThis role is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a proactive mindset, someone who anticipates issues before they escalate, thrives under pressure, and constantly looks for smarter and faster ways of working.\nWhat will you do?\n Manage day-to-day accounting operations in a high-growth fintech environment.\n\n Support the automation of supplier invoice processes.\n\n Perform daily bank reconciliations using Embat.\n\n Support monthly closing activities and ensure accounting accuracy.\n\n Manage accounts payable operations.\n\n Assist in the preparation of periodic tax filings.\n\n Support the preparation of documentation for annual audits.\n\n Detect accounting inconsistencies and resolve issues proactively before escalation.\n\n Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure data reliability.\n\n Continuously identify opportunities to improve and optimize accounting processes.\n\n Objectives\n3 Months:\n Become fully autonomous in day-to-day accounting operations and reconciliation processes.\n\n Understand Embat’s accounting workflows, tools, and reporting structure.\n\n Contribute actively to monthly closings with high attention to detail and accuracy.\n\n 6 Months:\n Own key operational accounting processes independently.\n\n Improve efficiency in reconciliation and invoice management workflows.\n\n Become a reliable point of contact for operational accounting topics within the Finance team.\n\n 12 Months:\n Help strengthen and scale Embat’s accounting foundations as the company grows internationally.\n\n Drive meaningful process improvements and automation initiatives.\n\n Contribute to building a highly efficient and scalable finance operation.\n\n Who are we looking for?\nStrong Accounting Fundamentals\n 2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or similar roles.\n\n Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related fields.\n\n Solid understanding of the full accounting cycle.\n\n Technical & Analytical Skills\n Experience with bank reconciliations and accounts payable/accounts receivable management.\n\n Experience working with ERP or accounting software; Business Central is a plus.\n\n Advanced Excel skills.\n\n Comfortable working with incomplete information and in fast-changing environments.\n\n Process-improvement mindset: you don’t just execute tasks, you think about how to improve them.\n\n Startup Mindset\n Comfortable working under pressure and managing tight deadlines.\n\n High level of organization and prioritization skills.\n\n Proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership.\n\n Clear and direct communication style.\n\n Adaptable, agile, and comfortable in high-growth environments.\n\n Languages\n Full professional proficiency in Spanish.\n\n High level of English.\n\n Why you’ll love this role?\nHigh Impact from Day One\nYou’ll join a finance team operating at the core of Embat’s growth, where your work directly impacts the reliability and scalability of the company’s financial operations.\nReal Ownership\nThis is not a repetitive back-office role.
