Works from approved drawings, FAA Regulations or other specifications.\nJOB RESPONSIBLITIES\nCarries out aircraft inspections, verifying and controlling specific documentation according to the inspection process. \nPrepares reports on maintenance services and spare parts supplier performance such as: rejected/ non-compliance parts status, specified name, parts provided, quantities, discrepancies, technical performance, classifications, technical opinion, & recommendations. \nPerforms stock re-inspections.\nPerforms shipping inspections.\nMonitors and verifies quality in accordance with control processes.\nEnsures that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work in accordance with internal procedures and FAA requirements.\nFiles work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the specific file pertaining to an assembly or unit can be located by the Chief Inspector promptly. \nConducts preliminary, hidden damage, inspection continuity, and final inspection on items repaired.\nPerforms review inspections on aircraft and components to monitor the quality of work performed and the adequacy of standards and equipment.\nPerforms occasional/random work package audits to ensure that documentation is maintained in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.\nPerforms “self-audits” of internal quality systems, and audits at the request of the customer.\nAssists the Chief Inspector in analyzing and interpreting quality data in order to develop methods, procedures, and systems to improve the Quality Assurance functions.\nPerforms special assignments and projects, as directed by the Chief Inspector.\nESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nEducation:\n\nHigh School/ GED\nDesired: A.S. degree in Aviation \nA&P License\nExperience:\nGenerally at least 5-7 years of experience as an aircraft A&P Mechanic.\nPrior Inspector work experience with aerospace quality systems that meet FAA requirements. \nExperience working with and interpreting, precision measurement instruments. \nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nAssignments require Comprehensive Knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within their Technical Area. \nSkills are broadly applied in multiple Technical Areas.\nKnowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs and maintenance.\nKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. \nSkilled with repairing, troubleshooting, installing and equipment maintenance. \nKnowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures.\nAbility to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA approved work package instructions; ability to inspect and install parts/components. \nWorking Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements\nAbility to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.\nAs required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 \"Respirator Protection\" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.\nAbility to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.\nEmployees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.\nGENERAL COMMITMENT FOR ALL EMPLOYEES\nCommitment to company values and complies with department norms, policies, directives, and procedures. \nIncorporates Lean and P3E processes and concepts into daily activities. \nStrive for continuous improvement to processes and procedures. \nHonors and protects confidential and proprietary documents and information. \nSatisfies work schedule requirements. \nThe job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by the employee.
