Tests, troubleshoots, overhauls, and repairs components including navigation, radar, communication, instrumentation, hydraulic, and landing gear systems while ensuring quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.\nJOB RESPONSIBLITIES\nRepairs and overhauls components and accessories are carried out in accordance with FAA and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) repair procedures and policies and ensure conformance to prescribed standards and tolerances. \nCarries out diagnostic, repair and overhaul tasks along with technicians and specialists, observing approved and prescribed procedures. \nPersonally, carries out or assists specialists in carrying out technically complex repairs. \nFollows appropriate manual references and utilizes proper tools in performing their repair duties, mainly focused on wheel, landing gear and brake repairs. \nFollows production schedule; works with the shop Lead and Production Maintenance Supervisor to implement ways to remedy behind schedule conditions. \nFollows work orders and repair orders to see that all documentation has been completed; assists in the maintenance records and technical data required by the FAA. \nMonitors and tracks parts shortages, supports the ordering of materials to alleviate shortage conditions. \nBriefing Lead or Production Maintenance Supervisor concerning repairs for quotations. \nCreates purchase requisitions for parts and tooling required. \nCommunicates any tooling requirements that may be needed to Lead or Production Maintenance Supervisor. \nCommunications via e-mail, telephone, and in person may be required. \nWorks with Lead to schedule any third-party vendor tasks or services.\nESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n2+ years of aircraft avionics maintenance experience\nFAA A&P preferred\nExperience:\nExperience troubleshooting avionics components and LRUs \nExperience with bench testing avionics components \nExperience with communication, navigation, and transponder systems preferred \nBench testing avionics components \nUse of avionics test benches or automated test equipment \nFunctional testing after repair or overhaul \nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nTroubleshoot Avionics Systems \nDiagnose faults using test equipment and troubleshooting procedures \nInterpret wiring diagrams and electronic schematics \nSoldering and circuit board repair \nWire harness inspection and repair \nConnector pin replacement \nElectrical continuity and insulation testing \nAbility to read wiring diagrams and schematics \nSkilled with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and avionics test equipment \nFamiliar with CMM and repair station documentation \nMultimeters \nAvionics test sets \nWire crimping tools and connector tooling \nWorking Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements\nAbility to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirementsincluding, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations. \n\nAs required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29CFR 1910.134 \"Respirator Protection\" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.\nGENERAL COMMITMENT FOR ALL EMPLOYEES\nCommitment to company values and complies with department norms, policies, directives, and procedures.\nIncorporates Lean and P3E processes and concepts into daily activities. \nStrive for continuous improvement to processes and procedures. \nHonors and protect confidential and proprietary documents and information. \nSatisfies work schedule requirements. \nThe job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of allactivities, duties or responsibilities that are required by the employee.
