This role requires expertise in irrigation systems, pest control for turf and ornamentals, and disease identification in plants. A key aspect of this role includes testing irrigation systems and conducting yearly evaluations for staff. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; degree in horticulture, landscape management, or related field preferred.\n\nMinimum of 5 years in grounds maintenance or landscaping, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role\n\nRequired licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances:\nObtain an LLO pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.\n\nRelevant certifications in pesticide application and irrigation management preferred.\n\nCandidates will be expected to obtain a Limited Lawn and Ornamental Pesticide License (LLO) by the State of Florida within the first 90 days of employment. We are excited to share that Embry-Riddle will cover the cost for the Grounds Supervisor to obtain a Limited Lawn and Ornamental License.\n\nMust possess and maintain a valid, US driver’s license.\n\nMust meet the University’s standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence):\nThree (3) or more at-fault accidents and/or moving violations in the previous 36 months.\n\nTwo (2) or more at-fault accidents or two (2) or more moving violations in the past year.\n\nConviction for driving while impaired (DWl, DUl within the last five (5) years).\n\nConviction for death by vehicle, hit and run, racing, careless and reckless driving, implied consent in the previous five (5) years.\n\nSerious violations result in immediate disqualification and revocation of driver privileges.
