projects.\nThe ideal candidate brings a blend of technical expertise and leadership, directly managing an Accountant II and ensuring accuracy across financial closes, reconciliations, and audit deliverables.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDirect Accounting & Technical Responsibilities\nPayroll & Compensation Accounting:\nManage bonus accruals, quarterly accrued PTO, and miscellaneous payroll liability accounts.\nOversee payroll and HSA data imports and perform detailed domestic and international payroll reconciliations.\nPrepare for future implementation of Total Addressable Market/TAMs accounting workflows.\nRevenue & Sales Accounting:\nManage commissions and ASC 606 accounting.\nLead sales tax compliance-including quarterly rate reviews, Avalara system management, and tax return oversight with support from external tax advisory firms (e.g., TaxOps, Smythe).\nReconcile sales tax accounts across all operating jurisdictions.\nEquity & SBC Accounting:\nOwn stock-based compensation (SBC) accounting, ensuring complete and accurate capture of equity transactions.\nMaintain and update equity and SBC rollforwards and reconciliations.\nSpecial Projects & Continuous Improvement:\nLead technical projects involving integrations, automation and financial close optimization.\nAudit & Compliance Management\nExternal & Statutory Audits: Lead end-to-end management of annual financial statement audits and statutory audits, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors.\nPBC & Schedule Preparation: Coordinate audit request lists (PBCs) and ensure timely delivery of supporting documentation.\nManagement & Team Leadership\nDirect Supervision: Directly manage and mentor an Accountant II, reviewing their work for accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.\nReview Responsibilities: Review direct report deliverables, including:\nBank reconciliations and bank statement collection\nGoodwill, intangibles, prepaids, fixed assets, and security deposits\nCapitalized R&D tracking and schedule updates\nAP / No-Vendor AP reconciliations and accrued payables\nPartner referral calculations and other receivable reconciliations\nWhat we're looking for:\nRequired\nCertification: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\nExperience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a manager or supervisory role (Public accounting experience preferred).\nTechnical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and share-based compensation accounting.\nAudit Experience: Proven experience owning external audit workflows and statutory reporting.\nTax Systems: Hands-on experience with sales tax automation platforms (e.g., Avalara).\nPreferred\nExperience with international payroll reconciliations and multi-entity global structures.\nExperience managing capitalized R&D (ASC 350-40) and complex equity rollforwards.\nStrong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to coaching junior
