Emburse, known for its innovation and award-winning technologies, relies on strong engineering leadership to build world-class products while coaching and developing the next generation of technical talent.\nEssential Functions Technical\n4-6 years of distributed software development experience, with 1-3 years of direct line management or player-coach management experience\n\nHands-on technical depth with ability to review code, triage alerts, and analyze software requirements\n\nAbility to review and influence design plans and architectural decisions\n\nOversees 3rd-party API integrations, vendor workflows, and data verification partnerships core to our travel platform\n\nManage goal priorities as set by senior management and delegate tasks to appropriate resources\n\nDevelop, lead, coach, and assess the engineering team (5-6 direct reports across US and Canada)\n\nGrow a team culture that is collaborative and grounded in trust, open feedback, and accountability\n\nProvide technical guidance and coaching; break down barriers that interfere with tasks\n\nAgile / Process\nFamiliar with all policies, procedures, and technical concepts related to software programming, including but not limited to security, deployments, build and UAT processes, SDLC, SSDLC, PCI/DSS, and GDPR.\n\nParticipates in design activities and system architecture reviews\n\nPrepare technical requirements and software design specifications\n\nPromotes and models modern developer workflows and AI tools to enhance team productivity\n\nWork closely with a product partner and the team to refine options and drive strong tradeoff conversations\n\nImpact\nLeads small technical teams in delivering highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets and timelines\n\nEstablishes attainable goals in order for the project to finish on time\n\nProvides guidance to team members to encourage work productivity\n\nFocused on one or more small projects or platforms at once\n\nMonitors, evaluates and ensures the completion of tasks and projects Improves engineering quality and efficiency (e.g. workflow, code review)\n\nAligns product engineering team with the company’s vision\n\nHires qualified candidates to strengthen company and team\n\nCommunication\nRepresents the product development team across the organization\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional peers, vendor partners, and leaders to deliver projects\n\nEducation & Experience\nEducation:\nRequired: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years’ experience\nExperience Required:\nMinimum of 1-3 years of direct line management experience.\n\nMinimum of 4 years’ professional experience in C# development.\n\nExperience working in Windows and Linux environments, .NET, Azure or AWS, Microservices, SQL, NoSQL, Git.\n\nExperience working in a Scrum and DevOps environment.\n\nGood understanding of agile application development lifecycle.
