Combining leading-edge technology, open-protocol solutions, and customized service, we help clients improve building management for greater efficiency, comfort, and security.\nJob Summary\nControl Solutions Group, Inc., an EMCOR Group company, seeks an Application Engineer, Building Management Systems (BMS) to join our New York City team.\nIn this role, the Application Engineer will be responsible for producing timely and accurate submittals for mechanical engineering approvals, generating controller software sequences, building workstation and server database with graphics and reporting tools.\nExperience with controls, BMS, BAS, DDC, Building Automation, Building Management, EPMS and Energy Management Systems is preferred.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nProduce drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material of building automation systems for submission to project Engineers/teams.\nDevelop BMS software databases (programming and graphics) in accordance with engineering documents and project specifications.\nDesign, integrate and support network migration for Internet / Ethernet / BACnet / Modbus platforms.\nMaintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in AutoCAD, Visio, Excel and Word as required.\nVisit the field as necessary to adjust design sequences to operate correctly with the actual system(s) and remain on site as necessary to complete functional checkout and commissioning activities in support of technicians to meet project schedules.\nConduct self-study to improve knowledge of required job skills and stay abreast of industry trends.\nMaintain confidentiality.\nDevelop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company team of managers, engineers and technicians, the client and consulting engineers.\nValue engineering recommendations where appropriate.\nWorking with consulting engineering community to foster personal and company growth and maintain design discussions throughout the build process.\nConduct surveys and generate repair recommendations and reports to customers.\nRemain current on the latest products, technologies and applications available\nMentoring younger colleagues\nDevelop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending and billing programs.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics\nStrong interest in building automation and controls required\nMinimum 4 years experience in the HVAC/controls industry\n\nDDC controller programming, third party device integration with BACnet and modbus preferred\nExperience with mechanical system operation\nBasic understanding of the construction process preferred\nStrong communication, negotiating and organizational skills.\nCompetency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nAutomated Logic WebCTRL experience a plus.\nWork Environment\nThis is a full-time, in-office, Monday to Friday, position based in our NYC office.\nBenefits\nWe are committed to providing employees a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability, a 401(k) Savings Plan, College Coach and employee assistance program.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
