Reporting directly to the Director of Construction, this position is responsible for portfolio execution, financial performance, productivity, client relationships, change management, and the development of project management personnel.\nThe Construction Manager will also collaborate regularly with Sales, Business Development, Estimating, and Preconstruction teams to understand the requirements of upcoming potential projects and help ensure the organization is prepared to execute new work successfully.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nLead, coach, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and project support staff.\nAssign new projects to Project Managers based on experience, workload, customer needs, and project complexity.\nLead monthly WIP reviews and assist Project Managers with financial reporting, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, and recovery planning.\nPartner with project and field teams to establish production goals and measurable productivity KPIs.\nMonitor project performance and drive corrective action when financial, productivity, schedule, safety, or quality targets are at risk.\nSupport change order preparation and negotiation, and become directly involved when requests are disputed or rejected.\nServe as a senior escalation point for client concerns, commercial conflicts, and relationship management.\nCollaborate with Sales, Estimating, and Preconstruction teams on upcoming opportunities, staffing capacity, project risks, schedules, and execution strategies.\nPromote consistent project controls, accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nQualifications\n10+ years of construction industry experience with substantial mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, piping, or industrial project management responsibility.\nProven experience leading Project Managers or multidisciplinary construction teams.\nStrong financial acumen, including WIP reporting, forecasting, cost control, labor productivity, billing, cash flow, and margin management.\nDemonstrated change order, contract administration, negotiation, and conflict resolution experience.\nStrong client relationship, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable construction management, scheduling, and project accounting systems.\nBenefits\nComprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision, prescription).\nTelehealth access and HSA/FSA options.\nEmployer-paid Life, Accident, and Disability Insurance: 1.5 times your salary.\nGenerous paid time off, with increases each year + 10 paid holidays.\nOn-site employee gym and EV plugs and/or bike commuter benefits.\nOpportunities for professional growth through educational assistance and career development programs.\nA flexible work environment and culture that prioritizes team collaboration, work-life balance, and personal well-being.\nWhy Air Systems?\nAt Air Systems, we believe in fostering an environment of growth, integrity, and respect.
