The Engineer maintains the integrity of all building systems, operate the building in an efficient manner and perform daily building tours. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.M-F 6:00a - 2:30p\n#EGS#LI-JC1\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nPerform and/or oversee the day-to-day efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all building and site systems for assigned properties. Building systems include but are not limited to HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, energy management, water treatment and fire protection.\nReceive work assignments, plan and/or generate work to be performed and obtain necessary tools, equipment and materials. Complete assignments and paperwork in a timely manner.\nAssist maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting of building systems as needed.\nAssist in the monitoring of contractors, inspecting work and generating deficiency lists.\nProvide proper care to the assigned equipment, tools, and uniforms.\nKeep the shop, penthouse equipment rooms and common areas clean, organized and safe.\nFollow and/or oversee inspection and service procedures outlined in the preventive maintenance and loss control programs.\nCoordinate conduct and/or provide support in the day-to-day completion, organization and accuracy of preventive maintenance and loss control. \nAccurately complete tenant requests, repair work and related records for the respective site/buildings as required.\nFollow applicable government / local authority requirements. \nRegularly inspect all areas of the site/building(s) and report deficiencies as well as suggestions for improvements and take initiative to correct as appropriate.\nEmploy service procedures and techniques in accordance with established procedures.\nMaintain logs on daily activities and events as required on daily building tours. \nProvide technical support to the Chief Engineer and Asst Chief Engineer.\nAssist in the technical training of less experienced staff.\nEffectively communicate to the appropriate party/parties the status and activity of building operations and conditions and promptly report any potential or existing problems.\nPromote and maintain a high standard in the operation and appearance of the properties.\nPromote, establish and maintain positive relations with tenants via proactive communication, routine follow-up and a high level of customer service.\nQualifications\nDC 3rd Engineering License is required\nMust have 5 years of recent Operations and Maintenance experience within the last 7 years.\nMust have CFC Universal \nMust be able to acquire a GSA Public Trust Clearance (HSPD-12)\nPhysical Demands\nThe work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and able to work on ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
