Combining leading-edge technology, open-protocol solutions, and customized service, we help clients improve building management for greater efficiency, comfort, and security.\nJob Summary\nControl Solutions Group, Inc., an EMCOR Group company, seeks an Field Engineer, Building Management Systems (BMS) to join our New York City team.\nIn this role, the Field Engineer will program, develop graphics, deploy, diagnose, troubleshoot, and commission BAS / BMS Systems in a construction environment. The individual must be able to program, develop graphics for, deploy, diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues relating to controls, BMS, BAS, DDC, Building Automation, Building Management, EPMS and Energy Management Systems as well as supervise installation subcontractors and coordinate related construction activities.\nThe Field Engineer is capable of developing both hardware engineering (drawings/submittals) and software (programming and graphics) in the field in consultation with the appropriate parties and is also responsible for all aspects of field coordination of controls projects.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nDevelop the necessary project programming and graphics to be compliant with specified sequences and graphics requirements while conforming to previously established site standards.\nDeploy system files (programming, graphics and front end configuration files) on job sites, confirm proper functionality, and make the necessary adjustments.\nParticipate in multiple automation installation projects.\nConsult with Project Manager regarding scope additions and deductions, priorities and deadlines.\nReview contract documents and reconcile with RFIs, and project correspondence regarding approved additional scope to determine what scope should and should not be executed and confirm with the Project Manager.\nDevise solutions to complete portions of scope required to permit subsequent trade work to commence on time.\nSupport Technicians and Field Supervisors as necessary on projects.\nDevelop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, subcontractors, and other trade contractors.\nAnticipate and be able to meet short and/or unpredictable deadlines.\nTroubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers. \nEfficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.\nImplement energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation system features i.e. mathematical computation and environmental controls.\nPlan, organize and carry out assigned job responsibilities within established time parameters.\nAssist in Junior technician or programmer evaluation and training\nContinuously seek to improve knowledge of required job skills and stay abreast of industry changes.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics\nMinimum 5-7 years field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration, and experience with pneumatic controls.\nKnowledge of Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit debugging skills preferred.\nUnderstanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields.\nAble to read and understand sequences of operation\nStrong communication, organizational and documentation skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office, WebCTRL, AutoCad, various operating systems.\nProven track record of completing jobs on schedule, being self-motivated and achieving full customer satisfaction.\nWork Environment\nThe Field Engineer must work well both independently and within a collaborative team environment. We are looking for a self-motivated professional who possesses strong decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
