Combining leading-edge technology, open-protocol solutions, and customized service, we help clients improve building management for greater efficiency, comfort, and security.\nJob Summary\nControl Solutions Group, Inc., an EMCOR Group company, seeks an Field Supervisor, Building Management Systems (BMS) to join our New York City team.\nIn this role, the Field Supervisor will coordinate and manage multiple building automation installation projects while supervising subcontractors and collaborating with general contractors. This role combines hands-on technical execution-including commissioning, troubleshooting, and programming building automation systems-with project documentation and tracking. Additionally, the engineer optimizes system performance through energy conservation measures and assists in training junior technicians.\nExperience with controls, BMS, BAS, DDC, Building Automation, Building Management, EPMS and Energy Management Systems is preferred.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nCoordinate and manage multiple automation installation projects.\nConsult with Project Manager regarding scope additions and deductions, priorities and deadlines.\nReview contract documents and reconcile with RFIs, and project correspondence regarding approved additional scope to determine what scope should and should not be executed and confirm with the Project Manager.\nSupervise subcontractors including prioritizing work to meet intermediate deadlines, authorizing, directing, tracking, and documenting additional work.\nDevise solutions to complete portions of scope required to permit subsequent trade work to commence on time.\nCoordinate (and document) with other trades and the General Contractor regarding devices, locations, installation requirements and functionality of system components.\nDevelop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, subcontractors, and other trade contractors.\nAnticipate and be able to meet short and/or unpredictable deadlines.\nPerform necessary point to point check-out, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, electric and pneumatic controls.\nTroubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.\nEfficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.\nImplement energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation system features i.e. mathematical computation and environmental controls.\nMaintain project related documentation including but not limited to commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-builts and status reports.\nPlan, organize and carry out assigned job responsibilities within established time parameters.\nAssist in Junior technician evaluation and training\nContinuously seek to improve knowledge of required job skills and stay abreast of industry changes.\nJoin the rotation of on-call plus occasional overtime \nAssume additional responsibilities as needed and approved by management.\nTravel Required up to 25%\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics\nMinimum 5-7 years field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration, and experience with pneumatic controls.\nKnowledge of Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit debugging skills preferred.\nUnderstanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields.\nAbility to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.\nStrong communication, organizational and documentation skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office, WebCTRL, AutoCad, various operating systems.\nProven track record of completing jobs on schedule, being self-motivated and achieving full customer satisfaction.\nWork Environment\nThis position is based in our New York City office.\nBenefits\nWe are committed to providing employees a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability, a 401(k) Savings Plan, College Coach and employee assistance program.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
